I took 3 days off as vacation. I came back Tuesday and none of my work was covered while I was out of the office. I’m now 5 days behind (because of the weekend) and expected to be caught up by the end of the day. What’s even the point of PTO if you’re basically punished for taking time off? I knew from the day I left there would be an excuse for why no one on my team could help. It makes the vacation days less enjoyable because I know coming back will be hell. I hate it. It’s not fair. I help other people while they’re out – I’m not doing that anymore.
It makes you not even want to take the time off.
