I had a recruiter reach out to me to ask about full time remote teaching. I’d love to cut out my commute and also cut out having to do classroom management for kids who just want to stare at their phones all day and really hate school. When I got into the details, they revealed that even if you want to full time teaching with them, it’s $20 per hour. (And waaaay shittier benefits.) Substitute teachers in my town get paid $20 per hour. For all of you in career fields where you get fully remote work and can still get paid well, I am so envious of you.
Some coworkers and I had a quick conversation about unionizing and I may have let slip to other coworkers we were thinking about it. I’m worried that I committed the good ole “loose lips sinks ships” if corporate finds out. Hopefully not and things go well for us.

I won't go into details about what happened because I've probably made about 500 posts about this situation on Reddit on 500 different subreddits. Apparently my employer decided to give me 0% hike in my salary after being top performer! I got significantly exceeds above ratings. It is a shitty bank which ends with the west.
So I currently work at a restaurant still in a kitchen for those going through throwaway account history? Different job, currently making 17.50/h but saw a posting for my location and job listed as “up to 19/h” I'm coming up on 3months(90days) and I'm debating trying to ask for a raise, I'm just not sure currently what the best way to go about it is, as I'm relatively new and I always have workplace anxiety. Posting for my boyfriend who is a line cook for a college club restaurant. He has been trying to get one day off (this upcoming Tuesday) for two weeks and kept getting excuses from his superior. Today he asked again and the superior said no because there wasn’t enough notice (even though he was asking the last two weeks and the superior said talk to me later so I know the schedule better etc etc). He also adds that he MAY need him on Monday (his weekends are Sunday Monday) but he won’t know until Monday rolls around. My boyfriend says he’s going to be out of town for his weekend and can’t come in Monday if he isn’t scheduled and his superior got mad at him.
