I have chronic pain and I don't know its cause and I'm in the midst of trying to figure that out for over a year now. I have to see a lot of different doctors, and they all make me do all these in person appointments during the middle of a work day. I was scared to ask my supervisor about getting an appointment for a dentist check up because on top of all the appointments I had to go to, now I have to see if my wisdom teeth need to be pulled out. ANd sure enough, she gave me a lecture about it. I've been good with getting the right amount of hours (I'm in an internship), and I've been honest about my struggles with having all these appointments, which aren't cheap! Is she fair to say that I should stop making appointments and find another time to…
Month: March 2022
Got fired for the first time Thursday. I will be getting a final paycheck, fiiled for unemployment, moving out of state to stay with family and have some temp jobs lined up. Just have been having anxiety cause I always have always worked full time jobs, never been fired before the year was over, and have been teaching almost 8 years. My love for teaching is gone and have no idea how to transition out of it.
What do people lie about to get the job?
I saw on another post here that the interview process is manipulative and lies. Do managers and HR lie? People who have gotten jobs do you everything you can to land the job ? What kinda lies you known people do to get food on the table?
New jub, but ex boss reacted very bad
I need you to tell me if I'm wrong in the decision or in the way of doing things, I recently entered the labor market. I worked at a job very far from the city at a great height, they didn't pay the transportation tickets from one city to another, they didn't have a contract for me, therefore I didn't have labor insurance (accidents). Similarly, the working conditions were very bad, without heating with temperatures below zero, poor insulation of parts, and little communication from the positions above the shift in office. Additionally, when I had the interview, they asked me about my salary expectations, to which I gave a number and they later pointed out that the job was for 40 days, given the custom in the country, all salaries are paid in 30 days, so When they hired me, I assumed that my salary expectations were monthly, which…
I have sick time and I had to call out yesterday due to a medical emergency I even gave them a note. Is this normal?
We Need To Fix This Now!
posting this on behalf of a friend who does not use reddit, but i figured the folks here might know how best to handle it. my friend has been working for a company (mobile phone retail) for over a year. due to an injury, she tried to go on EI back in october, but the company refused to provide her Record of Employment to her or the government, without her returning to work. due to ongoing symptoms of her injury (chronic and sudden fainting) it's not safe for her to work alone, but they kept insisting she be scheduled solo shifts, so she refused to return. now, they have apparently called her and told her that if she won't return to work in the next two weeks, that she will have to write them a letter of resignation and quit. i know what exactly is going on here; if you…
General Negotiation Advice
Hi all, 2nd time poster. I was just wondering if there is a general post for negotiation advice where those of us can post advice on how to negotiate for better pay and benefits. I’ve seen a lot of people posting a lot of really good advice and just wanted to make it easier to find if.
