Month: March 2022
I quit, and am enjoying the aftermath.
2 weeks ago I got an awesome job offer. Less pay and hours, but exactly in my field, far less mentally taxing, and it comes with an education. And it's the best thing in a while. I started under my current employer 4,5 years ago. In the back end of 2020 I became the general manager. Initially me and another person, but she quit due to lockdown, so I found myself running our business all by myself. I wasn't the owner, but it felt like that most of the time. Hadn't had a day off since. There was always some minor problem that NEEDED my attention (hint: 9 out of 10 it didn't). I managed to recover the financial situation, which was terrible. But COVID did it's number. And customers. We mostly work with children and thus parents. And it's the worst. For example, I had one mom bothering me/us…
Amazon isn’t going to pay that bonus
Amazon advertises bonus on sign up and 17.50 pay night shift per hour. 3 days in I was their top Stower and prior to the first installment of the 3k bonus that was to be paid over three months from the day I started, I was let go 3 days prior. NOBODY TOLD ME THIS THEY SENT AND EMAIL I DIDN'T RECIEVE. OK…. I was on the floor having been fired they allowed me to work the day My sign up bonus was promised…. ok and my co workers knew I was let go before me because HR couldn't reach out to me ever and when I went to see them on the little time I had off They avoided me. Then I was told I would be paid my bonus but they would have to delete my punch. I waited and no bonus. Of course they wanted to delete…
Should I lie on my resume?
At this point being honest isn’t working, I want to get into accounting whether it’s a bookkeeper or accounting assistant and I can’t find a job because I have no experience in the field. I want to go back to school to get my CPA but I know I need job experience first. I’m thinking about putting some experience on my resume. I’m tired of the broken loophole of “I can’t find a job because I don’t experience but how can I get experience if I can’t find a job”.
These bosses are mistaken. People need to learn how to separate work life and personal life easily which makes them perform better and becomes trustworthy employees long term. I have seen many shady practices and back-stabbing employees even those who made close $200k simply because their work life messed up their personal life.
Small Company Toxicity Loosing my mind
I work at a small engineering firm in the bible belt of the U.S. The 2 co-owners (my bosses) can't agree on anything and they're polar opposites on the political spectrum. The more right winged boss (red boss) is constantly complaining about politics and shit. While the left wing boss (blue boss) always has his 2 cents too. I got an email the other day and it was from red boss showing a pamphlet from one of our clients about *check your privileges * while personally I don't know what that had to do with the people just designing their store's plumbing. But this upset my boss so much he basically ranted about it all day along with supreme court justice BS. I just tired of this job and and have ot remind myself I only have to be here until I graduate in 2 months. Thanks for listening I…
