So today I got pulled in not by my manger, not by her manger, not by his manger. But by the boss because their have been reports about me dating back to around my last reddit post on AITA. Not in regards to it but the contents of it, were as simple, I was tricked into working extra hours, I stopped and ever since then my Manger has been writing down bad reports about me, pretty much to the day I stopped coming in early before me shift started. The big boss ended my shift early, pulled me into his office and was like “So tell me the issue?” I had no idea this was coming, but he had receipts and when he realized I had no idea what was going on he stopped and proved he wasn't a corporate monster for half a second by saying “Huh so she…
I'm one of the “lucky” ones in the sense that I'll always have a roof thanks to my parents (which is kinda shameful to begin with), but it's still not a great situation, and it's worse for most people: I'm 32 years old, only 30 000 euros saved, BA, MA, student debt paid sure (I went to a private business school), but the cost of living is so high compared to how low our salaries are on average that it's hard to save anything. I recently chose to go back to the 1050 sqft condominium in Lyon, France (it's the seconde biggest city in the country) earned by my parents (they bought a 2400 sqft big house recently so they're not gonna stay there), so that I have no rent to pay. It's literally the only way I'll be able to save money the next decade, allowing me to finally…
The Psychology Behind Being Antiwork.
Pushed out
Pushed out of my side job yesterday. They were so disrespectful that I quit. It’s only been a couple months of me serving. I am a single parent and told them straight up my child was my priority during my interview. They gave me nothing but positive feedback, covered other peoples shifts (including non serving shifts that didn’t pay as much) to help the restaurant. Their reasoning was that they were short staffed and couldn’t have someone that has a kid that’s more important than the restaurant. That I had “too much going on”. In 3 months- one occurrence of needing coverage for my kids birthday party that his parent invited me too / I can’t NOT go stop by. The other me thinking my custody might change since my kid told me a story of him being abused in the other parents care and me not knowing if CPS…
VP for one of Largest Canadian Telecoms
Bellow was sent over Slack: “Hello everyone – I'm typing this from (X Office) where (as a highly cautious COVID person) it feels quite safe and organized in all of the common spaces. As we prep for an April 4 return to the office 2-3 days per week, I'd like to encourage everyone to come in to work in person at least a couple of times in March while we are in this optional period. It'll give you a chance to try out the desk reservation system, make sure your gear all works (you know it won't be perfectly smooth after all of this time), figure out transportation and childcare, and just get used to a different routine. My first job here was a (X) tour guide, so I'll be offering free (X) tours to anyone that has joined the team since the pandemic started and has never been here…
Employer coercing google reviews
I used to work for a horrible small company. After separating I made sure to leave honest reviews on pretty much every site possible one being google maps. I check it occasionally and seen other people leaving bad reviews as well as many truckers as their logistics has been bad causing many truckers to wait hours, during a supply chain disruption/trucker shortage, so they were bombarded by bad reviews. So I checked again today and noticed there are several manager reviews all dated 3 weeks ago at 5 stars. I think the owner is forcing all the employees to leave a 5 star review or else as it’s kinda odd a small company with only a dozen managers all leaving reviews within the same time frame. They also done other shady stuff to effect reviews like open a 2nd indeed account to leave all the poor reviews behind. I tried…
I work for an external company where I am expected to work in an institution most of the week. Being entirely honest, it's highly stressful and the service users I support can be jarring meaning my mental health is currently suffering. The staff at the institution aren't particularly nice, so I don't feel supported either, possibly as I'm external? and I think I just need a day away to just breathe, and maybe cry, who knows. Next week I plan to go to the company's main office for a day to get some work done as I have 3 deadlines as if I'm distracted by clients demanding my time at the institution it'll mean I'll be needing to do overtime to meet the deadlines. However, I figured that if I tell the company I'm at the institution for that day and the institution I'm at the company I could effectively…
me wondering when ppl will realise.
If anyone out there that speaks legalese can enlighten me , I really want to know. It was some years ago this law was passed, and ever since its made me wonder nearly every day, if corporations have the same rights as individuals, then why can't we as individuals start a running invoice on every company? Put me on hold? That ll cost you. Make me wait in line? That will cost you. Want me to be on call 24/7… here's the bill for my hours. Is it not possible to file a class action lawsuit ,since they set the precedent that corporations and people are the same thing, for a retroactive payment for all the time we have been literally FORCED to pay attention to their advertising? if I tried to force a CEO to listen to me … I would have to pay for an appointment , or…
