I hate that I ever ended up in this position, but I was extremely poor and still am. I didn't and still don't have the privilege to just pick up or quit any job. But during 2020 I made a huge mistake, I started working at this hospital. My MIL was already working here and I was doing the 11pm-7am shift so I figured it would be easy. Then I found out from her that there's only 5 people in total on staff for this shift and there's no manager or supervisor at all for the entire night The first day was really hard and hectic, I was just slapped onto the floor and made to follow another worker around to “learn the ropes” which is always a really bad sign when that's what a department/company considers the entirety of their “training.” About a month into working there we get…

Have you guys had enough? What do we do?
I’m so tired emotionally and physically and my job isn’t that physically demanding. What do we do? I make 17/h “plus tips” and my rent is now over 2000 in an area where there’s active gang violence. gas sucks so I bought a bike. groceries cost a lot so i try to eat at work as much as I can even though I hate it cuz free food you know? What do we do ? How do we change things? A mass strike ? Do we vote ? Does that do anything if our politicians are not on the side of the people ? At this point it’s starting to look like death is the only escape from this constant cycle have you had enough of this also?

Overall the builder I'm apprenticing for isn't too bad, but the other day we were discussing the commute, my trip is 38km (about 24 miles) each way. If you've ever driven in Sydney you know the roads are set up to try to force people to take toll roads, but the tolls are exorbitantly expensive, it would cost…
