Recently I (24f) had reported my manager (50sf) to HR regarding her completely degrading me & cussing at me (in front of two other coworkers. During business hours) over asking one of my co-workers to call a customer back (who had asked to speak to him), nothing was said to me about it from my manager but I know she had spoken to Hr about it. Fast forward a couple weeks and she is having “one on ones” with everyone regarding our “mental health”, which she proceeds to tell me that even though I do my work efficiently I do it too fast, which apparently makes my coworkers think I have too much downtime. So she then suggested I either slow down my task time or do other “busy work” like wipe down counters. I’m beginning to think she wants me to not do my tasks as fast & efficiently…
Month: April 2022
As the title says, I just found out I’m the lowest paid employee in my department. We do the same job so it’s not like some are higher level or anything like that. In fact I’ve been here longer than some of the other employees. Everyone got an increase last July and I thought we all got the same amount but it turns out that wasn’t the case. Is there anything I can do. If it helps I’m in California. Also, if anyone has a way I can go about this without risking retaliation please let me know.
working as a consultant
Hi everybody! I don't know if it's just me, but I find it very frustrating working as a consultant. Especially if it's a body shop type, you have at least two managers, one from the consultant company and the other from the client. And both want you to deliver no matter the number of hours it takes, this without the hour bank that you have, but you never have time to take it. You have to make the client happy, but most of the time, the benefits go to the employees, and your managers gain money from your work. It's like slavery… I'm just pissed off. Sorry about vent
Sharing salaries
What opinion do we have of publicizing our salaries, like on LinkedIn, to normalize sharing it? We put our titles, our educational accomplishments, and our pronouns already. Elvis Eggerton, JD, STA, VP Teapot Capitulation Myra Toodlepip-Goldfarb, Director (she/her/hers) why not Ethel Smearmoot, PHR, Human Resources Generalist ($128,000)
My job has has troubles accommodating my diabetes while working at a medium labor intensive job. They had a sit down with me last month, I didn’t even try to explain myself I’ve worked there on and off for 3 years they should know by know along with laws protecting us. But this month I’ve put in my absolute best just to see how they would react. Their reaction? Stopped scheduling me on Monday for less hours, and today I work 6hrs 45mins, 15 minutes before the store policy required minimum for a break. Sorry just needed to rant.
Passive income strategies and resources
Does anyone have good books or resources that aid in this topic and have any solid pro tip they have actually applied in their own lives that has led to success in having passive income that replaces the salary???
When people criticize “Boomers” they're criticizing the mindset, voting patterns and economic controls associated with that group. Not LITERALLY ALL BOOMERS. You can be a 21 year old boomer if you're fighting universal healthcare, fighting unions, and denying that there's anything wrong with the country. I see way too many posts like this, intentionally missing the point, misrepresenting the arguments, and acting like this is all we do. These posts are not constructive, and they contribute nothing except having to explain to the poster AGAIN and AGAIN what punching up means. People criticizing “Boomers” are criticizing the group that controls most of the country's wealth, have all the political power, and use it to implement a conservative mindset. People within that age range who don't do these things AREN'T BEING CRITICIZED. Mods need to do something about all of these posts that detract and misrepresent the discussion. Nobody is criticizing…
Has anyone heard of or have opinions about this style of interview where the finalist candidates are put in a virtual room together to interview with the hiring team? Would you do it?
