Finally, it makes sense.
The Honest Truth
This subreddit is basically for the lazy people out there who just expect the government to pay their bills. If you actually went to college instead of sitting at home you might have actually found a job that you like doing. Work is very important to live a comfortable lifestyle. That's why basically everyone here is a lazy lump of coal playing on their phone living in their parent's basement. Cmon guys. Humanity can do better.
People in managment
Do people agree with me that most people in Management are not very intelligent. The higher they are the less intelligent they are.
Rescinding a Full Time Offer
My friend got an offer from a new company for more money and full time status with benefits. They went back to their current part time job and asked if they could match it. The original company couldn’t match it but they could offer full time with benefits and a raise which came just under the offer from the new company. It’s now been about 2 months since they accepted the offer to stay with their original company. They were told yesterday that the company cannot offer full time anymore because they can only hire people who reside in the state they are in (my friend works remotely). Is there anything my friend can do legally at this point? They turned down another job offer because of this promise. My friend isn’t the type to make a fuss so I’m worried they are getting walked all over.
I just started a new job 1 month ago. Prestigious company, office job with WFH flexibility, will look really great on my resume long term. Good work culture, at least in the sense the company wants to foster a real sense of team spirit. The flip side, like most employees I’m not on a contract, just a full-time casual through a temp agency. The problem is that I find the work exhausting. KPI driven metrics, the completion of one task means a new one immediately pops up in the system. Lately all I have been doing is either working or sleeping. Perhaps this is just culture shock going from a three day to a full five day job. Yet even with the money coming in I just don’t have the energy to enjoy my free time when I’m just recovering in anticipation of the coming work week. If not for…

UberEats driver asked me not to tip?
I'm not feeling great so I ordered some food and when the driver dropped it off he explicitly asked me not to tip because he was just trying to get the “points”? Anyone have any insight? I don't think I've had anyone ever ask me *not* to tip…
I only have to learn this lesson once.
I recently connected with a woman who is opening her own bookstore. The store will be open three days a week. She lives an hour or so away and she was looking for “dependable” people. I'm looking for part time employment (I work full time as well) and since I'm a writer, the store is 5 minutes away and there will be a lot of downtime, it seemed like a good opportunity. When I met her she was very passionate about paying a decent wage even though she was only offering part time employment. We talked for like an hour and a half about nothing in particular, but the conversation moved along easily. She was supposed to have a soft opening on Tuesday, so I offered to come by to help and discuss my schedule, pay rate, etc. We confirmed that I would come by at 3pm to help her…
