How is that my problem? You reached out to ME on linked in, YOU asked ME to apply and talk about this position. To save time, I clarified my requirements before accepting the interview they proposed: permanent position, fully remote, and my required salary range specifically on a w2. They were down with permanent spot with benefits, down with fully remote, down with my time zone, but put on a pity party about how they are a nonprofit and cannot afford to me. Yet they want someone with x y and x certifications, my particular degree, and X years of experience. It’s almost insulting that someone would expect a qualified, certified, educated, and experienced candidate to work for peanuts, all while the CEO of the nonprofit makes $300k+. Oof. Always tell the recruiter what your salary requirements are (and if you need fully remote if that’s your preference) BEFORE the…
Month: April 2022
So about a year ago I started working at target. After about 3 months (to my recollection) I started being harassed by a coworker. She would accuse on the regular of either not doing things I was supposed to or doing things I wasn't supposed to and would quite frequently leave her work for me to do. Other people have most definitely witnessed this. Like 3 departments worth of people. I first talked to my ETL(essentially department head/manager) as we had no team lead at the time. He talked to her I think. It stopped for a while and all was well for like a month. It started happening again and so I told my team lead who had barely been there a month and eventually me and her got into it and I was fed up and started really standing my ground. Raising my voice and the works. I…
It’s not just the USA…
Right now it's hilarious because I'm so glad to be out of there but I'm sure later it will really hurt my feelings that during multiple meetings today that included my team of 10 people no one brought up that it was my last day. I've worked there for 4 years and leadership said multiple times that I am the most experienced and knowledge member of the team. I wasn't expecting much but a shout out during your daily meeting or a virtual happy hour (we all work remote) would have been nice. I guess it does solidify my decision to leave though if this is how they treat people. Jokes on them. I got a new job with a 64% raise.
I work a well paid job where I handle customers with upper level issues and needs, which means I sometimes have customers who have been charged a lot of money because an agent was scamming for sales. I always have to fight to get these issues resolved because the bosses hate giving money back, even if the charges were illegitimate because the agent blatantly lies to the customers about what they’re getting. I know that some of the charges are real and some customers are just angry Karens, so it’s not like I’m handing money away on a daily basis. And sometimes customers issues are solved with simple adjustments to their program or tech support and I lean in that direction as often as possible. But my bosses get so condescending and imply that I’m an idiot when I ask to simply return funds(most of the time it is $100…
A true guru
I wanted to share this story with this sub as a change of pace. There are owners/boss’s who care about their employees and not just their own pockets, we just have to find them and shine a light on them for others to see. My GM/Co-Owner pulled me aside this morning letting me know that my next check was going to look a little funny. Said he was adding an extra $175 a month to everyone’s next hourly check(I work as a full commission sales rep) due to higher gas prices. It’s not put against our draw and said he will continue to do this until further notice. Sales are little slower now due to inflation/higher interest rates. $175 isn’t a crazy amount of money, but it was the thought that meant a lot to me. Shows he respects and cares about his staff.
