Today I was asked to change the names of several samples that failed a test, and retest them, and repeat until we get the answers we want. This is NOT allowed in my industry, it means we are cherry picking our results to say what we want and not what it is.

so i grew up with a mechanic for a dad, he was always fixing something or other that had a combustion engine. i ended up workin on a lot of my own stuff as a kid and adult which meant through the years id acquired a handful or ten of tools and developed a sense for taking things apart seeing how they work and maybe repairing it if i was able before putting it back together. well i got married and my wife thinks im quite handy but also knows that im incapable of working for another person because i will show up at your house after we clock out and deal with the problems we might have. cut to me deciding to post ads on craigslist years ago just offering easy mechanical work, oil change, tire rotate, brake jobs, tire repair, etc i could make as much money as…

Hi, I’m just a curious passerby, and I’m wondering if someone could explain the views of this sub to me in a short paragraph. I have a question though: if people didn’t work, then how would anything change?

So, brief story. I lost my job with a well known animal care company a few months ago and have been struggling for jobs ever since. I had an interview with an Animal hospital on Tuesday afternoon. Interview went great, the manager said he’s gonna put my info in the background check, so he can get me started with them next week as the background check takes 2-3 days. I messaged him on Wednesday asking a question I didn’t ask during the interview. It’s Friday afternoon, after business hours and he still hasn’t replied to the message nor said if the background check was complete. I think I messed up somehow and lost one of the best opportunities I’ve had in a while. Am I overthinking this whole thing? It’s a busy hospital that sees over 80 animals a day I just need some other options

Today, I went to buy some groceries from a well-known grocery store in CA. I saw a woman employee sitting on the ground in front of the grocery store, cleaning the broken eggs with napkin. I saw that the napkins were piled up and she was still cleaning under the heat. I was wondering if it is a kind of mobbing. Why on the earth they don't give her mob to clean it? I was really shocked and wanted to speak up but I was afraid that she might lose her job. I dont know, maybe I am making these things up and this is how is cleaned here. Don't know.

I’m going to come into a not insignificant amount of money in inheritance soon. One of my long term goals with this is to try and set up free housing in my city for the homeless to help them get their feet under them so they can save up and move into a nicer place if they wish. Was unable to find anything that had been attempted with this in the states, just a lot of theory but no proof of concept. Was curious if you all had heard of anything similar in the US. The goal of the place would be to be completely non-profit. Perhaps set up in remodeled hotels, with breakfast and dinners provided in a common room. The conference halls would allow us to do workshops to teach skills. We could hire on the residents or ask for volunteers to staff kitchen, perform basic maintenance, etc.…
