My interviews with home depot.
So I've decided it's time to become a crazy plant lady and I'm trying to get a job working with plants. Now I've just applied everywhere home depot included. And I've had not one but two interviews and I just had to share. So when I applied I later got an email saying you're hired but in a different department. Ok weird but I'll go in see what's up. So I do and apparently I'm hired for a a part time flex position. I'm respectful and tell the interviewer that I need a set schedule and a flex position is just not worth it. I also told her that hours like that are just unacceptable. Since it's a no go on that bullshit I leave. A day later I get another email saying I'm hired again this time in a different department for full time hours. And I just had…
Mostly a rant, as I'm planning on quitting I work at a small (5 employees including the manager) franchise that does shipments and a variety of other services. Our busy season is around November – January (due to the Christmas shipping rush), and slows down from April through August. Naturally, our profits take a hit during the summer. In order to combat this, our owner (who doesn't work at this franchise, and who doesn't even live in the same state) has decided to take all of us down to minimum wage starting in the summer when the minimum wage increases to $12.75 an hour for our region (most of us make over $14 currently). Some of us have been working here for over 5 years, and have taken on extra optional training to provide more services to customers. My manager (who has access to all the expense and income reports…
Every year we have a United Way donation drive. Managers are pushed by upper management to get 100% compliance from their department and the company wants 100% compliance from the corporate office for bragging rights or something. I had pushed off the myriad emails to donate and on the deadline day, I am working in another office in the afternoon and won't be back to my desk until after the 4 pm deadline. My manager texts me and says “you owe me $20 – I donated under your name”. Oh HELL no! I made it back around 5 pm and walked right into HR and asked the lady to hand me back “my” donation, which I then walked up and placed on my managers desk. She never said anything about it, but I am pretty certain they knew exactly who didn't donate. haha Also, no 100% compliance for her department.…
I just joined my union.
Moble device. Formatting. I am a teacher in a right to work state. As part of my contract I am given 10 paid days off at PTO time. This time rolls over. I have been in this district for 11 years. I have about 30 days banked. We approach the end of the year. Evaluation time. A good friend of mine goes in for her review and comes back crying. Her attendance is rated “poor” because she took time off to he with friends and family. Paid time off as given to her in a contract. I have missed days and never ever been docked for it. This policy is either new or coming from my administration's rectum. I have taken a few days off because now that covid has loosened its grip I wanted to see my family (and it seems all my friends are getting married at once.)…
Great Deal
I got a tonsillectomy because my tonsils were causing breathing problems. Two days after the operation my throat hemorrhaged and my girlfriend drove me to the emergency room. I was bleeding on and off until surgery. While waiting for the bleeding to stop my vision started to blacken, I became very cold, and sweaty. It was just my girlfriend and myself in the room at this point, so I looked at her and told her to press the assistance button. I then woke up with three nurses, emergency blood injected in my arm, and a doctor asking “you still with me buddy” I just nodded. Eventually I was taken to emergency surgery and spent the night in the hospital. I lost somewhere between one quarter to one third of my blood. After this I decided I need to live a full life, and work towards being happy, but after getting…
