Technically I’m still employed, but my account is suspended and I no longer have any shifts on there. I remember all of the days that I was supposed to come in, but that’s it. I’m not about to cheat myself out of unemployment by not showing up, but I know it’s pretty hinky that my manager is pulling this crap before my two weeks are up. What should I do? I’m already planning on keeping all my timeclock slips and I have a picture of my two weeks.

Want to stop working, any ideas how?
Right now making minimum wage, living paycheck to paycheck. No car, no house, no pets, no lover. Barely scraping by. Work 40 hour weeks with weekends sometimes. Overworked because lots of call outs. Hard worker always but rewarded with more work for being efficient and hard working. Burnout everyday. Anyone got anything to help me out?

All of us either giggle or get concerned looks. Today I got a call from the hiring person about setting up an interview. I didn’t answer the call (I was at my current job and also don’t answer unknown numbers) but I called back quite quickly after listening to the voicemail. The hiring person’s first question was if I was interested in the position if the job duties were slightly different than what was posted in the job posting. I asked how it would be different. The “slightly different” duties included being the weekend manager on duty. The original posting was a behind the scenes office job with minimal interaction with the public. So it went from a 40 hour a week Monday through Friday…
