I work parttime at a sports equipment chain for 12.60/hr (my state's minimum wage is 7.25) but pre-pandemic, they were only paying 9/hr… Only managers are able to work fulltime, and all us “part timers” are scheduled for 6 hour shifts, which is the max amount of time we can work without the company being required to give us a lunch break. There's absolutely no benefits: no insurance, PTO, etc, and they have such high turnover that all the stores around us are struggling to stay staffed, so the DM has been harassing my store manager to send some of us to other stores, but some of them are upwards to an hour away, and they only recently began offering to compensate us for the drive. my job: you need better monitors for your computer. we will get some for you also my job: never follows up with me to let me know if they’re arriving soon or if they even found them/ordered them at all it’s like this with a lot of stuff. they’re all talk, but when it comes to actually doing anything, they’re quiet.

I worked for this company almost 12 years ago. When I quit I sent them an email in the most discontent manner stating I am leaving. Now they want me back. The original folks that worked there, mostly are gone but some are still there. Should I consider going back? What are some flags to watch out for?

So, I was browsing Indeed today, as I normally do a couple times a week to see if there's anything interesting or worth applying for. I come across a newly listed ad for Subway- Sandwich Artist, which is where I work currently. The ad includes a wage that is $3 more an hour then what I am making now and I honestly feel insulted. I'm not super 100% happy here at Subway for multiple reasons but I haven't had many call backs when I apply to other places– or if I do get a call back and an interview there's so many red flags that I don't accept the position. So I guess what I'm asking for advice on is how to approach my boss, or the owner, or both, about this ad listing I saw and whether or not its worth it to ask to have my wage increased…
