Even Squidward gets it!
They test me every morning. The production manager has been asking how my son is and giving me a thumbs up for testing negative… while walking in five minutes late every day (6am). If any other hourly worker shows up late every they would be fired. Every day I watch the office staff (who come in at 8) come in with the same people showing up 5-10 minutes after they are expected to be in. But they are salary so it's ok I guess.
is it normal ? am I over reacting ?
Before we begin…. I'm in crisis and very emotional right now, and this just happened a few hours ago. I probly am missing a few details and everything is out of order and jumbled up. I just needed to get this off my chest. Thanks. I recently had a family crisis and it was all put on me suddenly. Ive had an enormous amount of pressure on me the past few years and I've been able to cope… Poorly but enough. Until I broke today. Let me give some background first actually. I work in a resturant that has been struggling to keep staff due to poor managment. But I've honestly never worked in a resturant that didn't have messed up corrupt management. So I assumed it's normal and acceptable. Of course I try as much as possible to leave shit at the door when I go into work. But…
Recruiters annoy me to no end
When I get invited to an Interview i make sure to always be on time. In fact, I am always at least 5min early. Besides all the other “rules” that you should consider during interviews, like not asking for pay and shit like that, how is it possibile, that in the 10-20 interviews I made, NOT ONE OF THE INTERVIEWERS had the common courtesy to be on time. They are ALWAYS LATE. It ranges from 2-3 min, to 10-20, and immediately I'm thinking, how is it a dealbreaker when i ask for pay, but you assholes can't be bothered to lift your ass off of your seat 2 min early?? When it was already announced that I'm waiting? Fucking hell, its asenine to lay out so many rules for the applicants, and then behave like complete trolls yourselves.
Recently I saw a post of a guy jumping between two cars – from one shitty employer to the next – and the caption “having 7 different jobs a year”. This in turn means for the company that it has 7 people on the same role in a year. Because you can willy-nilly hire and fire. That's why you can also see signs with “you are all replaceable”- But what if you couldn't fire? German labour laws make it quite difficult for companies to fire people. You have a trial period (of 3 to 6 months) where it is easier, but afterwards you have the workers you have. And many seem to try to make the best out of it. In my local supermarket I have seen the same faces for years now and I asked, how long they worked there. 2 more than 15 years, one more than 25……
