Work from home would allow people to move to the rural mid-lands where houses are cheap and cost of living is manageable but they don’t want that for you.

Don't think people realise the potential of working from home. If it can be done it would benefit our generations the most. Rather than being force to live or commute to expensive high cost cities we'd be able to move out into the countryside. Get a nice cheap massive house and not have to worry about such commutes to work. We'd save a fortune yet a push is being made to get workers back into the office? Why? If it can be done from home why bother coming into work? I feel it's some sinister nefarious reason as to why they're forcing workers back into the offices. I can't quite find what that reason could be. What are your thoughts on this and how much would working from home permanently change your life?

Am I an asshole for putting in 2 weeks on a schedule already set for the month?

My boss sets our schedules up for the month early. This is great. I can automatically fill up my schedule. However this job doesn’t give me nearly enough hours so I need to leave for another job. Interview is at the end of this month and June schedule is already set. Am I an asshole if I put in my two weeks knowing that she will have to find people to fill in my shifts for the next two. We’re a small studio and only 4 people work here. Anyone know a way to work around it? Edit- my boss and coworkers and all super sweet people which is why I would feel so bad. It feels like friendships not just my boss/coworkers.

I want a rocking chair (thoughts on laziness being antiwork)

I have time to kill at the airport, and they have rocking chairs available where you can sit, chill, and just watch the world go by. And as I sit in this rocker and watch the world go by, with no agenda except to wait and be comfortable in waiting, I’m struck by the realization that antiwork by extension is also pro-lazyness, pro-idleness, anti-productivity. We deserve time for nothing. To have nowhere to go, to not have to DO anything. Capitalism and capitalists need to squeeze every ounce of productivity out of our lives deprived us of our need for inaction, for reflection, for recovery, for creativity. Idk, I’ve also had a really nice beer while waiting for my flight. Maybe I’m just buzzed. But I’m definitely getting a rocking chair for my home, and soon.

Still have to work? Want to protest? Hear me out.

see this as an exampled, it’s been shared many times If you are working a job that’s barely paying the bills, maybe it’s time to not work so hard. Maybe if you work at a local fast food restaurant and you give away a burger or two, it’s not like these giant companies can afford to lose you, they are obviously hurting so why not make it extra special for the customer. If you work in retail – maybe you forget to add an item to the bill. If you work in groceries stores – maybe that bag of carrots goes into the the bag before you ring it up. I’m just sayin’ I understand we need to work – I’m also just sayin’ why do a good job? Be creative! Start your r/maliciouscompliance
