I took a new job that remote with better hours, more interesting, and way better pay. My current job is super understaffed so my boss is obviously pissed. He’s started calling me out for just chasing money. My boss though is also a rich motherfucker and always brags about his land, cars, houses, high class lifestyle, etc. he told me he couldn’t afford to pay me what I wanted and said that to our entire staff because growing the business is more important as it will be how we get what we want later. I’ve dealt with that mentality enough to see employees never get their worth, so yeah I dipped for a better position and my boss is just going on about loyalty and chasing money even though this guy was making six figures before he was 30. In November I applied with a temp agency. They found a couple opportunities for me. I chose the one on I liked more, she reached out and they wanted to interview me. I aced the interview. The temp agency contacts me and says they’d like to hire me. It paid $24/hr. I told the recruiter I needed to match what I was making at the job I left. She asked what that was and I said $27/hr, (which is the truth — no games here but actually made more because of 10% annual bonuses and multipliers). She said she’d talk to them. They agreed and I started the job. To get to the point I was overqualified but that didn’t matter to me: I had just come out of a two year WFH situation due to quarantine. I work at a factory in Ohio and absolutely demolished the tip of my thumb in a pinch point yesterday. I smoke thc and told them that when it happened. The doctor I first saw when it happened wasn’t comfortable fixing me up so he’s sending me to a hand specialist. Anyone have any experience on if your job in Ohio will still cover your medical bills if you drop positive?

I work fast food and am VASTLY underpaid, even for fast food. As I approach store to clock in, store next to us has big ad with STARTING PAY $2.50 over minimum which is $1.25 more than my 3 year shift manager rate. Instead of offering wage that only fools would accept, we just got delivery of NEW IMPROVED EVEN BIGGER we're hiring window sings. Almost as IF they were trying to hire! Bit of a short rant, but I'm pissed and really tired right now. Now, as a 20-somethings gamer guy, I don't always go to bed at the most sensible hour, but I've been getting better at it. My first morning meeting is typically around 7:30 AM so I like to be knocked out by midnight to stand a chance of making it through the day without needing to eat sleep for lunch. Last night was no exception, I'm in bed conked out around 12:15, and I'm not one to silence my phone or anything before bed because I shouldn't have to, right? wrong.
