I have been working as a document reviewer for a couple of weeks and my team and I are being given feedback on our work every single day. Our feedback is public, meaning that my entire team can read what feedback everyone has been given. Our managers are passive aggressive and condescending with their feedback I find this so toxic and humiliating and I don’t know if I am overreacting. It’s a remote job so I think they are micro managing. I have been looking for other jobs in the meantime but this is so insane to me. The system I use also tells my managers how long it takes for me to review and analyse the documents. Every work I submit has an automatic time stamp. I have been asked to review and analyse 190+ documents a day within 8 hours. I can’t take toilet breaks and relax. I…

why do employers humiliate their staff?
I received a letter last week informing me that I had hit a threshold for an absence review meeting after having 8 days off due to illness in 12 months. Please bear in mind that these 8 days have been across 12 months and not all in one go. In the meeting I was told that it was to support me bring my attendance back up and that being off ill was unfair on my colleagues and that I should come in if I am ill. The next sentence were: “how can we support you better” and “don't come in if you are ill because you will just burn out” along with very personal questions about my IBS and if I was doing enough to manage it and why didn't they know about it sooner (like somehow I can see a doctor during work?). My main point is: why are…
Like the title says, I know the person I was competing against. I have better credentials across the board but yet they got it over me because I’m not the color they are looking for.
yeah title says it all i was covid positive, this morning i called my boss to told him i was covid positive and i needed to be in quarantine for 1 week and he said i shouldnt come at all and “rest” at home and they were already over-staffed lmao then why did you hire me in the first place, i can report these fuckers in my country but it's not worth it
Wondering. It's easy to get jobs and even easier for them to let you go… I wonder if it's a tax insensitive for hires or some type of fund people can get for your name social security number etc. Imagine how many times you gave up your most prized possession your social security number and your birth date. Hackers live off people's info. Just curious as to if it's extras being made off hiring more people. Too many jobs are a reoccurring door. How are they staying afloat? Why are they so comfortable with letting people come and go? I know hiring low-income workers with food stamps gets them some type of incentive because I saw paperwork for it firsthand. Temps hire those types of people into businesses all the time…. Also, how are temps making money lol they are being paid to make your work? Your information seems like…
After leaving her previous job because the management treated everyone like garbage and paid minimum wage, my girlfriend found a new job doing waitressing at a nice local cafe. The management and staff seemed friendly and she was meant to make £10/hr which is £3 more per hour than her minimum wage. The advert she applied to initially was for a full time position which she couldn't fulfil as she has college. However they brought her in for an interview and she got the job on a part time basis. She just received her first pay cheque of ~£205… For 30 hours of work… An hourly rate of £6.83 not £10. Her boss replied via email that the £10/hr rate was only for staff that work full time or at least 30 hours per week. Personally I think that's ridiculous. If an employee worked 29 hours per week would they…
Hi all, for context this is in Japan and I'm not sure if it's legal for me to just stop going cause i notified my manager that i wanted to quit and he keeps asking me to work only 2 more weeks but it's the second time he did it. I was wondering what would happen if i just say no and stopped going? Can they withhold my pay? Thank you.
