Got to the final interview for a remote position. Yesterday, the behavioral questions were ridiculous! I asked about the culture and everyone seems to have different answers. The last panel was not enthused. One of them hang up without saying bye. I only remembered two ladies that were more interested. One tried to convince me why working for a2z is better. The other looked like she hasn't slept in months. I was exhausted at the last hour to put on my happy face but tried to answer all the questions sincerely. I was close to saying..please reject my app! Thank you! Anyone with similar experience?

Let’s talk about the Boomerang strategy
http://www.amenity.fr/the-boomerang-effect/ uhhh Wut??? A 'boomerang' is when an employer throws an employee away by mistreating them (thru only giving meager yearly raises for instance) and then later asks for their return to the company for a substantial raise . The article mentions up to +30% raises in some cases. This allows the company to maintain low labor overhead by providing weak af “merit” raises. Sure, some employees will stick around, but after some time it will become clear to them that they are not being paid fairly and they will leave for other 'greener pastures'. Where I work we were told straight up by the head of HR they'd be using this as the primary method to acquire talent during record attrition. It's kinda messed up because in a sense they're saying 'please leave the company if you think you deserve more'. (As a sidenote, “I'm only pretty sure” when…
If you need to show off that you make way too much money off the backs of the working class, go for the $5,000 cocktail. The real power move is to not leave a tip. https://www.ign.com/articles/star-wars-cruise-ship-bar-includes-5000-dollar-cocktail
I filed a grievance about unrealistic work expectations i.e. taking on the work of three people who quit or transferred, and the Personnel office, not to be confused with Human Resources, concluded they have no opinion!!! WTF…now what am I supposed to do????
My father has been a forklift driver for around 20 years. He started working for what was formerly known as the UPS freight division about nine years ago. The company has since sold part of their freight division to another company (censored for anonymity). He worked on the dock as a forklift driver up until this January, when he was trained to use the jockey trucks. His pay increased from $23 to $29 an hour whenever he does this. That's a huge difference for us. Last week they didn't pay him around $230 that he made from driving the truck. He had to file a grievance because of this. They ended up having him come in and explain why they needed to pay him. They did it again this week, this time $290 off. They did this to the only other person on his shift who drives the jockey trucks…
I’m sick of this.
I posted this on another sub, but as I’ve pondered it today, I thought it may also fit here. 2 years ago I started working for a vet clinic as a kennel tech. I was hired by the head tech. She was an older lady. Kinda had that tough exterior, but meant the best. The one I knew would be a problem was the only other vet tech that works here. She’s a horrible person. I mean, everything she says to people sounds like she’s talking to a child. The head tech (We’ll call her Mia) has said plenty of things I don’t agree with to me and the other kennel techs. However she is a lot easier to deal with. You can actually speak your mind with her and she’ll listen. Sadly she’s retired now With the other tech (We’ll call her Tina) now being the one in charge…
“at will” contracts are bull
I had one of my employees quit with 3 days notice this week, and everyone is pissed at them for giving no notice. But that's literally the one concession we get for an at will contract. The employer gets all the benefits. We can be fired with no notice, no severance, for no cause. And we have an abandonment clause – so not turning up for 3 days with no notice means we're fired. Literally, I could get in a car crash on my way to work, fall into a coma, and after 3 days my job retroactively ended the day if the crash….as does my health insurance. So yeah. At will contracts are absolute bull, and shouldn't be a thing.
The hell I just escaped is basically a version of “out of the frying pan into the fire.” I thought I was leaving hell, not knowing I was going deeper. A friend brought me on as returning a favor that I did for her (I helped her with a career change, then I kept complaining that I needed an out from my previous job, she asked if I was interested in working with her). It was fine at first, kinda fun. When my trainer put in their two weeks, The Boss went ballistic. She was screaming and yelling over the phone (because she's also an absent boss) and told my trainer to just leave. Afterwards, Boss made crazy accusations about my trainer, such as stealing office supplies and “stealing time.” This is just the surface of the huge iceberg that was yet to come. I noticed other things about Boss…
