My boss has a new hiring strategy that is meant to help us with turnover. She hires a bunch of full/part timers (8 to 10) but has no intention of putting them on the schedule. She keeps them on standby in case someone on staff quits. The full/part timers sign paperwork and are excited to start working (as promised during their interview/hiring process) but what they don't know is that they will never see their first day (except for orientation). They are promised a certain number of hours but its a lie. We need people on standby so she lies to get them to sign on. Recently a few part timers that were hired started to call asking when they would be scheduled. My boss coached the staff on generic responses that we can give so they feel heard but we don't actually address the question at hand. She also…

After seeing this thread from yesterday I thought I'd share my story of working for Crocs. This story involves retaliation, wage theft, lying to the Department of Labor, the stealing of your tax dollars, and me losing my shit when they bragged about it. So Croc's uses a company called Remy Corp to avoid paying their workers benefits like health insurance/paid days off and to steal PPP funds so you may see that name in the pictures below. Don't be confused, its all the same company I realize now. I filed an ethical complaint with the HR department because the recruiter lied to me and as a result I lost my job. (Make sure if you ever file a complaint in the future to record it, Crocs denied that I ever filed a complaint.) They locked me out of the payroll system and refused to pay my final check. …
My job asked me to work with COVID
Is this even legal? They said if I wear an n95 mask it’s fine. I’ve never heard of this before.
Why are older people THIS brainwashed?
Working at the good ol home depo and taking my break, in the room there were 3 of my oldest co-workers (all above 60-70) complaining about the work conditions at this store. They complained about the harassment from manager, the harassment from impatient customers that expect us to just poof appear next to them with the thing they wanted already in our hands, shitty hours, low pay, the heat cause the AC was broken, people leaving in droves, and finally the lack of employees. I butted into the conversation at that point and asked them “why do you think we have a lack of employees” and despite the earlier complaints they all looked at me, like something had taken over them and like clockwork one said “oh, its because nobody wants to work!” And they all agreed, adding “people now a days just want to sit at home and soak unemployment”…
Most of the time I do all my work in like 5-6 hours and have only some 2-3 hours of doing nothing. But there are days like today where I did everything there was to do in just 2 hours – and now I have to sit the remaining 6 hours here and surf trough Reddit allthough I could have gone home hours ago. Work is killing you even when you dont have any…
literally a Risky one
Stop calling me
Boss called at 6am and asked me to take an overnight shift on saturday. Didn't pick up and and muted my phone during certain hours now. Like bitch i just fell asleep 3 hours ago from my evening shift and you are ruining my sleep schedule. Pay me more than minimum wage if you want me to take other people's shifts on my 2 days off and further ruin my sleep schedule/body.
