Antiwork is a global sentiment.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to hand out? I almost guarantee something already exists for this, ideally something that can fit onto a single page I can print out *warehouse
How my Executive Chef smoked his bosses
Many years ago I had been working at a hotel. The chef that had hired me on decided to move on to an new job. Security came down with him to escort him out after he emptied his office of personal items. Higher ups were obviously upset about his departure but the head of security was always a consummate professional and made sure that neither side stepped out of line. Our second in command applied for the job and made arrangements to take over and became the new Executive Chef. We had a really good relationship and he liked to call me in to the office to pick my brain on issues so I was not surprised that soon after he took over he called me in and closed the door behind us. ExecChef – “I have to tell somebody this and it needs to stay in this room. In…

Do jobs still drug test for weed?
I’ve been unemployed for about 4 years now and thinking about getting a job soon. Do employers still test for cannabis or are they finally hip to the fact that weed is a harmless substance? I just don’t seem to understand the point of searching for employment if I have to wait a few months for some THC to burn out of my system. It’s like they want to leave stoners like me in some kind of financial trap
pay for travel
So I work in solar. Installer. I travel about 2 hours a day , up to 5. I meet up and ride in company car to sites. My employer does NOT pay me for those drive times , only the work site hours. Sags I could drive My own car there, and that's not paid. What you guys think.? Is this okay. I figured if I show up at 6, then come back to my car at 8. That's 14 hours of my time spent for work. I see just car rides to work. You can't justify your 25 min drive from. Your house as hours. But this is physically loading and unloading literal tons of materials before and after. Not to mention maintenance on the vehicle or parts in/on as we commute. .
Kaiser pre-employment nicotine test?
I have to do a pre-employment drug test for Kaiser Permanente and currently vape nicotine – does Kaiser check for this (or cotinine) in their drug screenings? Quite a few clinics near me are becoming “smoke-free” – meaning they will not hire someone who tests positive for nicotine/cotinine, whether it be from cigs, vape, patch, gum, etc. A seriously stupid change in my book, meant to cut insurance costs and whatnot. But who am I to argue with the almighty dollar. Anyway, any insight would be greatly appreciated. TIA 🙂
Food Delivery and Little Respect
Tonight was my first night trying to make ends meet through a popular food delivery app. I had someone cancel and was shocked to not receive any pay. The app also often dragged me out of my “designated area” and didn't tell me ahead of time NOR pay more for these deliveries. If not for tips tonight would have been an absolute wash. I understand that this industry relies on people to actually not want to go out for their restaurant food, but a little respect from the company would have been nice. There wasnt even some to lure you into a false sense of security lol! Unfortunately I will have to keep doing this for the foreseeable future. If anyone has tips for not going insane please let me know.
