No being subtle here, my old ugly fat bosses want me to redye my hair under the supervisors bullshit militaristic appearance mandates. Does nothing to hide my coworkers double chins. Most people have complied but I've continued rebelling in my own ways and they've already lost a man because they demanded he wear skin colored piercings. They've always had trouble hiring people and we're so understaffed our 60 yo boss has been doing 12 hrs and we've even got one temp “fired” employee that recently covered a night shift 12 hr alone. When I leave, I'm sure they'll lose the contract. They straight up do not have enough employees to cover a 24 hour production facility.

Despise my new boss
I’m an accountant at a chemical company. The founder/president just passed away due to Covid complications and his son, who I think is on cocaine has taken over. The son is apathetic and incompetent and I think it will threaten the future of the company. I’m torn on whether I stay since I loved the guy who died but the son is such a dipshit I may be forced to leave – what should I do?
I was reading another thread here about the average liveable income in your state and city, my city ranged at $22 per hour and I’m currently at $18 per hour but I’d prefer more pay to afford food and housing. Anyway when do you think is a good time frame to get a pay raise?
Have you ever wondered?
Guy I used to work with came up in my LinkedIn feed. Completely disorganised and incompetent. His engineering work was an absolute mess. Seriously, everything he did was wrong. He resigned and I got dumped with his crap to essentially fix it up. So, I quit because I was sick and tired of my reputation as a “fixer.” At my present job (Engineering Design) my referees said that I'm a “doer and finisher”, “whatever the job, he'll get it done.”… Anyways. This dude is now an Engineering Manager. So guys get promoted for not doing their jobs and being shit, I get stuck for fixing stuff because of my reputation. So here's the question. What do people prefer, the Title and Prestige (Engineering Manager) or contract rates (professional whore) . Presently Engineering Contract rates are good.. @$900-1000 per day.
Are we ruining ourselves?
This may not be the right sub where to find an answer, but i guess you could empathize with me on this subject. Do you know the percentage of the whole stock market value owned by private little investors vs the percentage owned by hedge funds or millionaires/billionaires? My feeling is that a lot of normal people are investing in the stock market looking for easy money, and we are slowly becoming the evil boss of ourselves: pushing for profit at any cost, cutting salaries and jobs, overpricing goods and so on. Do you think hedge funds, millionaires and billionaires are still the only “bad guys” to blame for greed, or are normal people like us that push for our own impoverishment? Are we ruining ourselves? I can't handle the constant yo-yo. Maybe it's just me, but when I get “Snapped at” I instantly get teary eyed and want to cry, which most of the time I know is ridiculous and hate myself for being so emotional. For the most time I can hold it in until she's gone, or I go to another location (but even than, I can have red eyes) I don't want to be this emotional, it just happens. I just don't know how to handle her and my emotions.
My past work experience
So I recently joined the subreddit due to shit that has happened to me and I seriously need help. I started out working at a Jack-in-the-box for $9 an hour. I switched over to the local Arbys as a Janitor, waking up at 3:00 AM every. Single. Day. for a full 90 days straight. Here’s the thing, I thought it was a good job as I had signed on for $13 an hour, but I was only making some couple hundred dollar paychecks, and decided to check my Paystubs. They were only paying $12 an hour. I got the raise up to $13 as everyone else who was payed less than me before the raise, was payed $14.50 an hour. I gave my two weeks notice, and at the next employee meeting, the boss said that there were multiple janitorial job opening at more than one Restaurant of the chain…
Exact Minimum Staff Required
I got a job at a place that grinds up any 'meat product' and mixes it with any 'grease or oil product' and boils them together after the meat which is mostly full dead cows, hogs, turkeys, and whatever someone else wants to bring thats consider loosely meat is ground up in those grinders that you see in videos that grind metal into chunks. This place wanting to save money, runs on EXACT number of employees to run the plant. Which they surprisingly got down to 4. Theres 3x 8 hour shifts, morning noon and night so they can run 24/7. If someone calls in, the guy on that shift that runs that position is TOLD he HAS TO stay 4 hours more and then the shift after the absentee's shift someone is called and that shift guy in same spot is told he has to come in 4 hours…
