Just another reason of the need for universal health care. By separating health care from employment, companies would lose a lot of undeserved control over their workforce.

What kind of dystopian society do we live in? Story: I’m at the hospital dealing with my own shit. I overhear the patient in the stall next to me break down crying as the doctor tells her she tested positive for COVID. She automatically calls her boss so he doesn’t fire her and puts him on the phone with the doctor who tells him she can’t go into work. Doctor tells boss she needs to quarantine for a week. No one should have to be scared of losing their job because they’re sick.
