Do you support this idea?

Saw this in the wild: “I'm hopeful the era of the Robber Barons is coming to an end as more and more workers strike for better working conditions around the world. All of the workers of the world need to come together and go on a coordinated world-wide work strike to show the owners of the world we want more! Let's make the day after Labor Day the World Workers Strike Day, September 6, 2022. Spread the word!”

New serving job forgot to give me study materials on Day One of five-day training (min wage/no tips). Manager gave me materials at the end of Day 4. Now I’m behind, and they want me to do a 6th day of training. Should I request tips?

Typically, during training, you don't get tips. In this case, for the last two days of the five-day training process, I'm “leading,” which means I'm basically serving the tables myself, with the veteran server shadowing me — and then collecting the tips. Which is a bummer, but understandable: the menu's complex, they've got lots of protocol, etc. But now, having neglected to give me study material or explain to me that there's an online module with roughly 10 hours of work/study that goes into it, they want me to do a sixth day of training. Which means a sixth day of working without tips. Also, now that I have the training material, I'm seeing that virtually none of my trainers taught me what they were supposed to (there's a strict curriculum for what you're supposed to review on each day). Should I ask for a percentage of that sixth day's…

Help me out here

I have been following this sub when there was about 500k followers and such. I have seen absurd changes. I just see people complain about a company and not share any relevant details to the company. That’s it… I just see way too much generalization posts. Why can’t we just say “Chic Fila in Houston” or “Amazon in Pittsburgh” It feels like every rant related post is obscure and there’s little to nothing we as a community can do accept grieve and sympathize . Instead these same companies get away with this bs and the original poster goes back to work. This is ridiculous . Antiwork is just turning into a therapy session.

So im 20 and prior to this had no work experience, so a friend got me a factory job (decent) then the factory owner moved me over to a boating goods shop across the road as the sole person in the shop all day, sounds good right? Well turns the shop is a shit heap and my dumbass thought I could fix it and shit but I was a.) not able to do much with certain shit because of red tape and b had to shoulder a bunch of blame for shit, factor in I was given basically task managers would normally do and I thought I could do it so Im partially to blame for jumping into this hole, all this stress for £7.50 an hour and no prior experience whatsoever in any field of work and now im getting hauled into meetings and told off for not doing…

I think I’ve hit the jackpot.

I booked a week off for a vacation next week, as well as a day to go to a wedding last friday. Come this Monday I tested positive for COVID. My symptoms haven’t been great, but far from being crazy sick. I’ve been ruled out of work for this week. My boss is still allowing me to take my vacation next week (as he damn well should). This meaning I will have had 10 days off from work (including weekends). And I could not be happier.

Had to fill in a questionnaire, had to score a 9/10 before I could come in for a interview

Long story short, a recruiter send me a message on linkedin normally I ignore them but this time it was kind of exactly the job I was looking for, after going back and forth for a bit he ended up with a the best sentences I've ever heard ''You need to fill out this questionnaire first so we get to know you to see if you are a good fit and if you are the person they want in their company'' once he said that I started laughing but I was interested anyway, guys the questions I got were funny as shit. ''If you could steal a million without getting caught would you?'' ''I clean a lot when im at home or work'' ''Do you stay mad for a long time, even if said person is treating you poorly?'' ''I would be bored if I had to visit a…

Tyson Foods piloting 4-day workweek with focus on poultry facilities

Tyson’s food piloting 4 day workweek I have been saying that more companies with production facilities should adopt 4 day work weeks. This should also go for any onsite employee (labs and scientists). My science major requires to be on site, I changed my dream job to be able to work from home. Now all of the people I went to school with are hitting me up and asking me how I found a WFH job. Guys we are in trouble without scientist, lab techs and people that need to be onsite. Personally I don’t think 4 day work weeks are the complete solution but it is a step in the right direction for onsite employees. I know a lot of VPs and directors get car stipends but I think since so many WFH these stipends should be transferred to on site people for commute and gas money. What do…
