4 years ago I got in with a company willing to give me a chance, and I quickly worked myself up to a supervisor role, company truck, phone, and a good amount of raises along the way. They were, and are, the most stereotypical red flag “we're a family” company that I've learned to know through this subreddit. Still, I persisted through everything. Longer hours, weekend work, secondshift work – doubles, etc. About a year and a half ago they were bought out after having on and off issues with finances. The structure remained more, or less, the same, but the money came in from a 3rd party and they closely monitored expenditures. I was skeptical, to say the least. Initially, things didn't change much, but this summer was the breaking point for me. Without getting into the nitty gritty, we did bull work. Serious labor. We've always had an…
Month: July 2022
We have been short staffed and been plagued with call outs and just an all around bad environment. I've been verbally abused by the staff and had to hold down the job of 2 other managers for the past year. We just hired a complete dipwad of a man to work along side of me. He's been questioning my in time and asking about switching shifts because “I get off on time” and he “doesnt” even though I've paid my dues. I have had to put up with passive aggressive attitudes from the other managers. I'm over it so hard right now. It's time to move on for a job I passionate about and right now a good reference can get bent. I don't care about my eligibility for rehire. I don't care I don't care. Give me the support I need to walk out tomorrow.
They’re taking away our drawers.
This sounds like a shit post that you could be punished by losing drawer privileges, but this is actually happening in the office I work in. You aren’t allowed to have your phone, so people were hiding their phones in their bag, and then putting their bag in a drawer. So they decided they’ll be locking everyone’s drawers.
Last year I made the decision to get a new job. I'd been with that company for 5 years, and I hadn't gotten any payraise whatsoever, and I just couldn't afford it anymore. I got a new job fairly quickly, doubling my pay. I've been with that new company now for 5 months and I'm loving it. The people are amazing, loving, helpful and understanding. The pay has allowed me to save money for the first time ever, and I've been able to get out with friends, dive into my hobbies, and I've even started looking at moving house next year. The past couple months have been hectic, something I used to not be able to handle. I always blamed it on my autism and adhd, and just generally being a person who couldn't handle stress very well. However, I've come to notice that this time around, I've been handling…
97° in the warehouse today
And they fired a pregnant woman for calling out of work due to the heat. We don't have AC. The owner and upper management all go to the same church and are aggressively “pro life” and they fired a pregnant woman for calling out due to extreme heat. I could honestly cry.
He acted flabbergasted that as a 30 year old woman I needed a reliable schedule and had basic needs. They’re only giving me minimum wage anyways, no benefits. I warned him that I might not even show up he does that. Fuck ‘em.
https://youtu.be/AuqemytQ5QA Absolutely disgusting assessment from this scumbag. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Glad to know he “applauds” people living on a dollar a day. Fucking scumbag.
