I work a job that breaks me down physically and mentally. I’m on my feet from 7pm-7:30am running my ass off around the warehouse (usually by myself) to do maintenance and troubleshooting on machines and problem solve operator issues. I never get to spend much time with my wife I’m always sore and feel sick. My schedule is always changing. One week I’ll work 36hrs another week I’ll work 50+hrs. I have to change my sleep schedule at least 2-4 times per week I feel like I can’t focus on my physical health or my mental health and at this point I wish something would just happen to me so I wouldn’t have to deal with this fucking job anymore. I’ve tried the side hustle methods, I’ve tried looking for another job I’m just fucking over all of it. I’ve checked out completely. My legs are constantly sore or in…

About job hopping
(This is a cry for help) I often see people talking about job hopping on this sub, and how much more they get offered than they already make. I trully believe they’re right and I often see such opportunities appear. BUT… As a software developer I feel kinda bonded to the projects Im working on in the company I work (they’re company projects and not my original ideas), and I can’t contemplate just picking up on other peoples projects and doing something just to move to another company and keep hopping and changing and never finishing anything (even though I know a project will never be finished anyway). Any solid advice on how to change mentality over such topics? I wish I could come with a project of my own so I didn’t depend on working for any company, but I dont see it happening.
Dear All Job Boards
Why don't any of the job boards allow us to filter only jobs with salaries ranges listed. I refuse to apply to a job that doesn't have pay listed or puts crap like 'pay commensurate with experience'.
Taking approved PTO on two weeks notice
Am I an asshole for using pre-approved PTO during my notice? Been with this company for half of a decade and due to being extremely overworked 10-14 hour days 5 days a week while performing a job that used to be done by two people (both of whom made more money than me) and am just ready for a career change. I told my boss over a week ago that I will be resigning and gave them almost three weeks notice as the last week and some change I would be on PTO that was approved a month ago due to not having child care. Today was supposed to be my last day at the office and I received an angry email from the boss asking if I really intended to use my PTO which I need to take due to nanny having the week off. Needless to say I…
Work from home has ended..
I work in a huge mnc which usually outsource their employees. We've been working from home as usual but now it is coming to an end and the management has told us if you don't come to office by this week then there will be “strict action” against you. I don't understand if the clients doesn't care if the work is getting done with more productivity and if the employees are comfortable why are they going to this extra mile to calls us to office.
I should’ve known
Quit my old job to start at a place saying they have a 4 day work week. Which sounded great. Orientation was only 4 days and all seemed well. And of course as soon as I went in yesterday my supervisor said “go ahead and get ready to work every Friday until told otherwise. It’s mandatory overtime” so now instead of 5 8 hour days it’s 10 hour days. 50 hours a week. There has to be a way to stop shit like this from happening. I feel exploited
My place of work held a jingle contest and I have in writing through a work email that everyone from every department can enter the contest, even friends and family. Im on the marketing team so I entered the contest. They let me submit my entree. Then waited over 4 months to pick a winner. They decided to send out all submissions and let the company vote on it so it was fair. Well the company voted mine as 3rd place. However when I received the email announcement it said that my entree was disqualified for being a marketing entree and 4th place was given my prize money. I talked to my firect manager and HR. HR talked to the CEO and they basically told me “We decided that if we let a marketing team member win that it would piss off the company so we would rather take the…
