capitalists as always!
Hey ya’ll. I’m coming off of maternity leave soon and my work is extremely high stress. What are your opinions of asking for a lighter work load? Come off as lazy right? Should I just quit instead? My work is heading into some of the most stressful times as the year is coming to an end. I know I would be leaving them when they need me the most, but I also feel inappropriate asking for a lighter workload knowing that fact too.
“Thank you for your honesty”
Whenever I tell a potential employer that I am currently sick and can't work, they reply with “thank you for your honesty”. How agressive and unempathic is this? Like, this has nothing to do without being truthful, you moron. Like I am trying to get from underneath your job offer or something with an excuse? Is the job that bad? I guess it is! F you!
This world is insane My job pays me $16/hr They switched my hours forcing me to get a dog walker. The dog walker is $100/week or just under 5k/year How am I supposed to survive on 37k a year with rent, bills, insurance, food, and now a dog walker. Inflation skyrocketed and my wages didn’t increase. I’m going nuts over here losing my mind trying to wrap my head around how my employer thinks this is acceptable as a living wage In todays current world and state of economy. Thoughts?
I work at fedex and last year we had national holidays with holiday pay no problem. The drivers that deliver the packages get national holidays off, but the fedex warehouse still loads the trucks on every holiday. For the last two national holidays, the managers have told us not to come in on the holiday, even if you’re scheduled, but they pressure you to come in the day after even if it’s your day off. They make us load two days worth of packages in one morning because they don’t want to pay us time/and a half on the actual holiday. Is this legal? The management at my warehouse already pushes illegal actions on us (skipping breaks, and pushing lunches to the last minute of the shift). And I’ve heard people say “they feel uncomfortable with somethings management is doing that’s boarder line illegal and they don’t want to be…

Burnt out from job
I’m 26 and a budget manager for a Fortune 500 company. I’m burnt out but don’t know what to do next. I have an MBA from a state school and currently make about 80k total comp. I want to look for other opportunities (preferably remote) but don’t want to keep burning myself out. Any company or job recommendations/advice would be much appreciated 🙂
Hypocritical assistant supervisor (Rant)
So I've worked at a factory for several years now. My former assistant supervisor had worked there for literally a week less than me. He got advanced early on (about a year in) due to being friends with a former supervisor. Well about 4 months ago another supervisor job opened up and this assistant wanted it. He said he had put in 7 years as an assistant. He put in for it and was summarily told that he wasnt enough of a company man. He literally based his entire schedule around his job. And would do things for the company off of paid time. He decided to quit due to this, and found a job elsewhere as a full supervisor. As I had worked with him for several years I let him know that I was interested in his position after he put in his two weeks notice. I had…
