Two demotions in a year…
I’m posting this on behalf of my brother in law, as he doesn’t visit Reddit much. “I've been working at my job now for 7 years, since graduating highschool. I've worked my way up to the position I'm in currently. Started as a welder, moved to progressive stamping operator now I'm in quality. About a year ago I was given a slight pay bump because I was doing a lot more than just my quality job. I knew how to do every job in the department including the highest paying job. Management moved someone else into the department, she was well over the attendance points but they all wanted in her pants, so they gave her the job I was “working”. The corporate office catches wind of them paying 3 quality techs and they demote me back down to my previous position netting an $8 an hour pay cut. My…

What are they going to do, throw me overboard?
It’s not just the “west”…
Happens all the time…
I hope I'm not shooting myself in the foot on this. I'm still employed by the company. This is an issue with unpaid travel time for multiple jobs we've done that fall outside of our normal “home” area. Security why they pay so low ?
Companies like Allied Barton Securitas that have contracts with Shell Valero and Chevron the best they can do is 16.75 in California while everyone in site is breathing in Carcinogens and in a hazardous environment ? Now security in general is underpaid don't kid yourself were in the middle of summer right now wait till winter mask mandates will be mandatory and of course we will have the knucklehead that doesn't obey the rules and we have another pandemic called monkey pox stay safe observe and report and remember is this job really worth 16 bucks an hour ask for youre employer to pay you more and JOIN A UNION ORGANIZE SPFPA oil companies made record profits
No doubt this will be removed, but it is very frustrating that this rule has been put in place. These types of post typically get a lot of engagement and it is frustrating when I want to read a screenshot only to see it has been removed.
Not a complaint. Not sure if this is allowed since it isn’t really anti work. But like the title says, my store manager asked me for ideas to engage with employees. I’m a shift lead. Didn’t really know what to say besides have more in person 5 minute meetings. All of our 5 minute meetings are conducted by recording over theatro (name for communication device). Thought you guys might also have some ideas. Like things you might’ve liked done at your place of work.
