So I’ve worked for a top brand hotel for over 16 years. And I have NEVER wanted to leave until now, they have been Different properties and I am astonished at some of the management that is at my current property. They treat their staff like shit and when guests treat staff the same way, they just give them whatever they want anyway. So it makes staff look stupid or uncooperative! Why do we allow guest to scream and bitch treat employees terribly just so they can get what they want which we are told we can’t provide!? No late check outs? I was at a job briefing process and I was invited after I applied. After the presenter briefly described the role and info about the company, he said to take an aptitude test. When I asked if I was eligible to take it because they invited me and it was something else that they said they wanted during the briefing process. I am from a poor background and so I needed the job. I had the bachelor's degree in business but they wanted either an engineering graduate or an MBA for the role. It was firstly an “on the job training” with very meagre salary but they didn't even gave me that opportunity. I felt so worthless. Shouldn't they firstly even let me have an aptitude test Or even an interview but no, the guy bluntly said “No”, I just am fucking depressed and anxious.

This was about a few months back. I worked for a big grocery store chain and was looking for a job to make some money for myself. (I was 19 at the time) I worked in a produce department and was mainly responsible for doing the heavy labour of moving boxes of fruits and vegetables that were moderately heavy, as well as ensuring that the quality of product to be displayed at the front of the store was as fresh as possible. After about 6 months, a freak accident happened as I was doing my job; a partially torn rotator cuff on my right shoulder. This injury was worse than I thought as it became chronic and was stubborn on recovery. I at least had some worker's comp and my manager at the time understood my situation. I moved out of a very toxic department after a lot of health issues. My ex-manager there is the embodiment of an loud asshole and my one colleague a narcissist/Machiavellian bully. Because I am in the same company, I can't just block the ex-manager (blocked the colleague). Any particular tips on how to deal with this situation with some tact?

I recently quit a server job after about a week and a half because it was hands down the most toxic and abusive work environment I’ve ever worked in. I’ve work at Hooters, Twin Peaks and in strip clubs and I’ve NEVER seen managers that carried on the way the GM and Bar Manager did. Pre shift meetings were the GM berating us for whatever was done wrong in a previous shift. He openly called people idiots, dumbasses and had a very condescending and rude personality. He took pleasure in putting people in the spot and shaming them. I have heard him say verbatim “I sleep better at night knowing I am screwing someone over”.
