About six years ago I worked at a a small French cafe. When the owner had hired me he had asked if I would be able to commit to at least 6 months. That didn’t seem like a problem at the time, so I said yes. Fast forward a few weeks later, and he decided that I would replace the main cashier/waitress when she left. He seemed to like me, and even decided that I would be the person speaking for the store voicemail. I would usually do morning shift, which for the first hour or so was just he and I. We would prepare the place, and have some regulars pop in for there insanely early morning coffee. Pretty early on he decided that he would comment on how “beautiful” I was, and say other things that obviously where inappropriate. He was about 40, and had a wife and…

Love how Gen X and Boomers call us lazy…
I'm a millennial and I'm working with a Gen Z kid and we're getting trained together on a new job at a job and our trainers are making us do all the work while sitting on their phones doing nothing and today me and the Gen Z kid looked at each other like wtf while we're working our butts off and saw the Boomer and Gen X in their chair sleeping. Was gonna snap a picture but I didn't finish my job task before getting my phone before they woke up, lol. Bonus: the old guy did nothing today besides press a few minor buttons and then proceeded to complain about the quality department “being lazy and needing to get off of their asses” when he legit sat 95% of the time on a 12 hour shift lmao.
My new Husband had a heart attack a few weeks ago. Quadruple bypass. Don't really have family or a support network, and I'm also in school full time. I called off work the night he had the attack. He was admitted after 6 hours in the ER, because the EKG looked normal. No one would cover me, my manager was cool. Then she went on vacation. I showed up for all of my shifts that week, despite being a wreck. Left what I could at the door. I did my best, they didn't give me any time off so I was seeing my kids for less than 15 minutes awake, between school work and the ICU. I called off the night before he was released. I was never offered time off, but instead written up for 5 different insignificant things during that week, after a 0 discipline need until then.…
Everyone is so focussed on how mental health is causing people to snap and do terrible things, and how undereducated people are being “dumb” and not putting forth best effort in the work place. These people aren’t stupid, and they aren’t categorically mentally ill. In the past 20 years we’ve seen everyone in the bottom 80-90% of America lose over and over again. Everyones dollars just keep losing cents. Everything costs more and work isn’t keeping up with costs. I’m a degreed software engineer from a top 25 engineering school with a pretty stellar job, yet I will be living with my parents for the next 4-5 years hoping the housing market doesnt out pace me. I recently just had to buy a new vehicle as well because the one I’ve been driving since i was 16 is finally done for. I don’t have frivolous expenses, i never spend more…
(A city in TX) only has 1 Jamba (no longer called Jamba Juice, just Jamba,) left, all other locations closing during the pandemic, this one should’ve as well. I got hired back in March, 1st was the DM asking to become a SL. While working there, I faced some horrible conditions. There’s too much to go into at the moment, I want to get to the root issue. The manager is allowing the use of rotten produce. The fresh juices such as purely orange, carrot, twist, fresh ginger shots have possibly been made with rotten produce. Same with the bowls, blueberries and strawberries. If you went during the dates of July 1st through July 16th, I am more than sure you have been served soiled fruit. Management made us stay open with no working AC. It was hotter inside than outside, our freezer had melted everything that was supposed to…
