This was back in 2019. Our company was in the middle of an acquisition of a new company. I work in IT. My specialty is printers. We needed to migrate a dozen locations from their network to our network. Move existing printers, add new printers. This has been a rough Conversion Project. I started off with a migraine the day before flying out. I've been working on an extreme lack of sleep. My left shoulder is injured from over extending it playing Beat Saber. None of the rest of the IT crew knows printers like I do. I spend most of my day in a conference room on a laptop getting the printers configured. We are in Salt Lake City and have been told we have to follow the local dress code at all times instead of the main corporate dress code. Polo shirts are not allowed except on Fridays.…

I work for a large property management company as a community manager. I’ve been in this job since the beginning of this year. My boss was supposed to spend a week on-site with me to teach me how to do this job. They spent 45 minutes on a Friday with me. The property is super far behind on certifying tenants and being in compliance with federal guidelines. It was that way before I even took this job. I’ve had to basically teach myself what to do in order to get files certified and sent to our corporate office for approvals, which gets tons of corrections sent back, as I never got the proper training. When I put invoices in, it’s split a certain way between properties (I run more than one account), and I asked my boss how to split. They told me a percentage and our accountant emailed us…
Dumb errand
Boss – I need you to dig through the (1400) client files and find one Me- sure, for which client? Boss- I can’t remember the name, but you’ll know it when you see it
The title pretty much says it. I work at a small critical access hospital in a rural area. The whole area is having an increased rate of suicides (even fucking kids man) but our hospital staff have been hit the hardest. Especially our ER. I don't know the point of this post, but I'm just so sad and this seems like the only sub that would understand why. I want to make clear that the suicide issue is predominantly nurses at our hospital but definitely not only them. The whole place is depressed. How long can we work for mediocre pay, shit conditions, getting yelled at by patients every time you ask mandatory covid/vaccination questions, being told I'm stupid for wearing my required mask, etc. We used to have a great cafeteria but they chased away all the best workers so now I don't even have that to look forward…
Like the title says, I was just told that all employees are asked to give $100 towards a vacation for him and his family. I've been here for about a year and a half and last year nearish Christmas time one of my coworkers came around asking for money for the bosses present. I didn't think much of it but had a $20 dollar bill in my pocket and gave that. I'm all for contributing in buying my boss a present as he is an amazing boss, like maybe $20-$50. But $100 to go towards a vacation for his family seems absolutely ridiculous. Does any one else work do this?
I am just getting more and more convinced of this. I mean they don’t care if we starve, are gonna be homeless and maybe die, or want to rest in between shifts… profit is all that matters. If they can get away with anything on the workers expense, they will! But not just that, the top class loves to see those below them struggle and desperate. It makes being rich much sweeter, and it’s easier to take advantage of, and even buy the people under you if they are desperate enough. They want to own us and to be our masters, it’s obvious seeing how they try to assert more and more control over every thing we do, like forcing us to rent instead of us owning our own place. They like everyone else being like peasants, because they are evil!
