How do I convince my colleague he is being exploited?

Tl;Dr. Colleague offered to fly into/out of the city every two weeks. They've been working remote since forever. Hi. This is a short one. During the pandemic, our office moved to fully remote, to epic success. For two years they told us productivity stayed the same or improved. As of tomorrow, we are expected to be in the office 2 days a week. This is all “well” and “good” for those of us who live in the city that contains the office. I am going to protest in my own way. Starting with my resume. But my colleague, brilliant guy in so many respects, lives in a city a thousand kilometers away. So what is his answer to being asked to be in the office 2 days a week? He's offered to fly into the office's City, work for 2 weeks, fly out home, and work remotely for 2 weeks,…

started a new job on the 15th

When I was in the interview I was told we'd get 40 hours (don't know why it was brought up.its kinds normal to have 40) said sometimes you'd have a little mandatory OT well little did I know you'd leave when the work was done too. Just got my 2nd week's pay and because there wasn't enough work last week we where told not to come in Friday and all week we had half days I only worked 20 hours and took home $300 how the hell is that allowed

I’m getting so tired of my supervisor, who makes more than everyone in our office, guilt tripping us into donating money all the time

The supervisor acts like she's super kind and loving and calls herself a true Christian but I can see right through her. She's very passive aggressive and very bossy but that's another issue. My issue is that she gets paid significantly more than everyone else in our department but she's always asking us lesser paid employees to donate for different causes each week. Here are some examples and how she tries to guilt trip us: Another employee in our office buys random office supplies for everyone to use (plates, utensils, candy e.t.c), and does so on her own volition, without being asked. Supervisor wants us to secretly compensate her back by leaving money in her desk drawer by saying “since we all eat her candy” (I honestly don't because I watch my sugar content) An employee that works in a different area is having fundraiser for a family member and…

I really like to share this image that I found in linkedin, from a shitty managment guru and share my response with you. I’m not very good at english, so i translated it with google. Hope you understand.

The concept of resigning implies voluntarily leaving a job in this case. A “silent resignation”? It is misleading and I dare say malicious. “Set limits” is being equated with “relinquishing responsibilities.” They are two completely opposite things. I believe that management has to stop looking definitively for new phenomena that have existed since the beginning of the industrial revolution (we are talking about the year 1760, 262 years have passed). A little history of the labor movement would be enlightening for these people. The very revolutionary definition of quiet quitting has its first historical record in 1904, it consisted of working under regulations. The only thing except the new definition is the “silent” word, in the past the work under regulation was organized among the workers of the same factory to pressure for better working conditions. Nowadays, as Bauman says, the individual “licks his wound alone”, the institutions that previously…

I hate my companies anti work from home policies

It is so incredibly frustrating. I work in an incredibly small office of 8 people, and tomorrow 6 of those 8 are going to be either working from home themselves or out and taking a long weekend because of labor day. I think its important to preface that every single person other than me has “manager” in their title so they can just decide to work from home if they need to. I send an email out to my boss asking since every one else was out tomorrow if I could also work from home, the response I got was Hey, It looks like the only people out are (lists all 6 people that will be out). The rest will be in. Bosses name. First of all this did not even answer my question of if I could work from home or not, and second of all “the rest will…

I used to go into work early.

For about the first 6 months at my old job, I would arrive at work about 30 minutes early, by virtue of the families daily routine. Since I was there, I'd just walk in and start answering phone calls etc. “My immediate boss pulled me aside fairly early on and said, “You know you don't have to come in early, right? The company doesn't pay for additional voluntary hours.” Obviously covering his ass against me claiming OT or something. Anyway, one day if finished my work early and decided to take an early 15 minutes. The next morning when I walked in (30 minutes early), that same boss pulled me aside and gave me the, “please explain” for me leaving early and said that if it happened again I would get a warning. My response, “Oh okay. I'll remember that.” Every day from then until I left, I would sit…
