Hi y’all! I am a journalism student who is working on a semester-long project on the rise of unionization and the changing work culture in the United States. I would love to engage in 15 minute interviews with union workers over the next couple days where I could see what you think about the changing work culture of the US! Please Message me if you are interested! This may be a long shot but I know that this sub has inspired many to join unions, I want to know why.

Immediately Burnt Out
I started my first job out of college over the summer at a corporate engineering firm, and I already feel like I can’t stand the idea of going back into the office on Monday. The pressure and corporate bullshit is really getting to me. It pays well, but it’s taking a real toll on my mental health. I feel like I can see my life laid out before me, and it’s just endless hours at a desk typing away on pointless spreadsheets. I feel like I need to quit and just find something fun to do… I’m in my early 20’s and there’s so much I want to do while I’m still young. I have been telling myself over and over that I’ll just suck it up and work hard then someday I can get fridays off or something, but my optimism is really starting to run out. I think…
Turning down full time work and more pay
I know it’s insane but I like the job I have and it’s enough to get by I’m scared if I leave I won’t like the new full time job. But I also am worried if I don’t take it I’ll regret leaving the job where I like everyone. I am so torn and only have a week to decide really but I’m leaning towards staying where I’m comfortable.
They’re just cutting to the chase.

they are going to farm every last crab, every last pig, every last chicken, every last drop of oil, every last diamond, every last flake of gold until we stick together and stop it
Why is it OK for companies to monitor employees working from home? If a worker is able to get 8 hours of work done in 2 hours than who cares how they spend the remaining 6. Companies should only care about output not how much they are being a seat warmer.
