What nobody really wants
“Capitalism is working perfectly”
my boss lied about giving me full time.
about two months ago i got a call from a place i had sent an application in. it was the manager and she wanted to know if i was still interested in the job. after some conversing, she told me that when fall arrived she'd be able to give me full time. i told her that i needed more hours than what i was getting at my current job, and she seemed to understand. after an interview in person, i got the job. flash forward to now, and she's giving me THREE hours a WEEK. after the first week of three hours i was pissed but a little relieved to get a break. then i found out she's got me only working three hours next week too. its been fall for a few weeks and there has been zero mention of full time, only a massive decrease in hours. today…

Absolute gem of a post. Best landlord ever and he is fighting people in the comments about why he's right and blaming the other person
“You’re paid more than enough”
This may be a bit of a jumbled mess as I am sipping Tequila on a Friday night. But here goes…. I started working at a trailer manufacturing company, the type that hook to a truck to haul farm equipment, brush and logs and things of that nature. This was about 6 months ago. I was hired on as a pinstripper which is is astoundingly easy and I could sit for most of the day, just a lot to remember and requires attention to detail. The shift at the workplace started at 7am and would run until 3:40pm, however we worked at production and required at least 25 trailers a day to be completed and ready for sale/shipment. A good 80% of the time we would work until 5:40 pm or later. After about 2 weeks I knew exactly what needed striped, what color, how to properly mix and dispose…
I’m just trying to be nice, but ok lol. If I didn’t like my coworkers so much, I’d just not show up for these last two shifts. Some of the illegal things she’d pressure us to do: over-serve the regulars, pour extra liquor into drinks, let the regulars stay past the legal time, consolidating mostly empty bottles into other bottles (in front of customers), giving free drinks to people she likes, free pours, and the list goes on. For reference, I live in Utah where they will give you a charge and a multi-thousand dollar fine if they see you do any of this. Also, I wouldn’t be able to bartend, which is the only job that doesn’t trigger a disorder I have, for years.
