Anyone else a go sit in your car or drive somewhere or anything but taking lunches and breaks in the “break room”?? Anyone else almost socially punished by work for doing so and not “socializing”?? Is the problem hour long forced lunches/does anyone else wish it was just the mandatory 30 min? I don't want to stay longer at work for a “meal” I don't eat or break I don't enjoy. Pretty much as what title said. And this was a job I worked for 9 years. Staff members was always bit over 10. Sometimes I really can’t believe I worked at a an agency that long. 80% was fun and self achieving even pay was low. However the career was a dead end. Most of my colleagues worked for 3-4 years and left except my direct supervisor. Since I worked that long I got very familiar with the job and overall environment. As people left I started to pick up extra responsibilities, so I was actually working on IT, two programs and also some extra communication works. I got burned out since Covid so last year I asked my supervisor and new boss a change of position and raise. No surprise got rejected. I then found a another job and my income got almost tripled. Just a thought, simple jobs should not carry over any stress once you’re outside of hours, and if it does then it better pay decent.
