The quote … While that does appear to have been “active recruitment” – NES says it wasn't, because it is not a recruitment agency and, as such, only engages with doctors from overseas once they've already committed to practising in the UK. … is the equivalent of saying “I wasn't peddling drugs because my clients had already made the decision to buy drugs before I sold drugs to them”

I think I’m gonna quit my job
First let me start of by saying I’m a college student doing a full time study Software Development and living +/- 2 hours away from my college. My study requires me to put about 40 hours a week into self study next to 20 hours of school already. I work in a supermarket and I’m hired as a baker in the bakery department. I get paid €5 an hour including all benefits. So that would be give or take €3,50 an hour without. I work there parttime next to my study for about 8 hours a week. I have a 0-hours contract which means they can summon me to come in to work whenever they feel like it. But I’m not stupid since this won’t allow me to work when I’m actually available, so I had them add a clause to the contract stating they’re able to summon me coming…
Listening to different view points
So I try to listen to diverse podcasts so I can get better visibility on diverse view points. I’m basically a normie, live in suburbia, wear a suit and have a bullshit, achieve nothing job. I do some gardening, have some chickens, etc Anyway I was listening to “the survival podcast” and the host Jack noted his system of self reliance as a percentage. E.G I grow 10% of my own food. I thought that was a great way of looking at as for those of us without a homestead it could be seen as a great way of getting some independence in that if you have say 30 days worth of food saved (not amazing food but shelf stable long life stuff) and you are 8.33% self reliant for a year.. I donno, just an idea I thought was intriguing.
They announced again today that they're offering voluntary severance packages and unpaid sabbaticals up to six months (during which time you can be fired if the company sees fit). I think the only reason I'm here at this point is because I want them to look me in the eye when they fire me. Spite is my only motivation for work.
I'm in SE WI. We just had a line of strong storms go through, including multiple tornado warnings. I sensibly hid in the bathroom at work. Brought a chair from the break room. Nobody else here seems to have taken it seriously. After it expired, I returned to my work area. Supervisor asked if I'd clocked back in! No, because I wasn't on break. Is it legal to dock pay for not working temporarily during a weather emergency???
My fiance stopped by our local Subway restaurant recently, and after paying with her card, was asked by the employee to not leave a tip when prompted, telling her that the store takes, “More than half,” of the credit card tips to cover the use of the POS system and transaction fees Credit to them for keeping it classy
