I just started a new job and was told I couldn't wear my plugs (stretched ears at 1 inch). My first few days I worked with a someone who has piercings and is allowed to keep them in. However, I've been told I can't wear mine. This person has their septum and nose rings, while I only have my ears. Is this manager playing favoritism? Not sure, am I going to HR? Probably not because I know it'll cause more issues than resolve. Just ranting here because why not.

BACKGROUND check Conexess Employment agency is set up with Conexess and I got and email to fill out my name, social, etc online, but it didn't ask about my employment history. How are they checking former jobs? I have a bogus job for the last two years during “covid” b/c I had a lot of temp jobs, so put a local business that is out of business, but they have other locations, so am concerned…. I had on my reference list a contact ready for that “job”, but they didn't even ask for former jobs.

I got a “promotion” to team leader because the last one walked out, you’d think extra responsibilities and work mean you get compensated? No. You’d think being one of the most effective workers there and effectively being praised by most of your team as why they still work there you’d be seen as a man they can rely on? First, there's Powur, a residential solar company where users have to pay for access to their platform to design a system and sell solar but they do not give you leads, so figuring out how to find people to sell solar to is completely on the individual whether it's buying leads to call or door knocking and every municipality in the country pretty much requires people to pay for permits for door knocking. Powur markets it as owning your own business. There's also marketing material that Powur ambassadors and consultants have to pay for such as cards, flyers, clothing, etc. Then there is American Income Life. They have their name on the Dallas Cowboys stadium. They provide leads but require individuals to pay to study for and to take a life insurance test.
