Hi everyone, I recently as in 5 minutes ago decided to go review my Job Duties as stated in my contract and I realized I have been performing activities outside of my contract for the last 8 months. My boss asked and I always said yes but now I realized I could just have said no, or yes if I was getting payed more for it. Is there any good way to change this in my favour or did I dig myself a hole for doing all of it for this long without really noticing? My workplace is good and I have mostly positive feelings about my job so I don’t want to burn any bridges but also my direct supervisor is changing in a few weeks and I think it would be a good opportunity for me to bring this stuff up.
Month: April 2023
Mandalorian
I’m wondering if i could start wearing a mandalorian helmet to work and claim it as a religious exemption.
Not enough to die or to be seriously injured, just a fender bender to inconvenience me. Every morning I would feel sick to my stomach driving in (45 minute commute) and every evening I would dread the drive back home, knowing I’d be back the next day. I’ve got a new opportunity lined up, thank god. No one should have almost-suicidal ideation due to their work, no one should have to feel physically ill at the prospect of going to work.
I went to Niagara Falls today
I'm in my 11th month working a job where I have 0 days PTO the whole first year (yeah, I know. I was mislead). I hate this fucking job and every day I wake up fighting the urge to walk out, but I need to make it one more month so I can use my hard earned PTO in May and then get the hell out. I'm needing words of wisdom and advice to push through this final month. Thank you!!
No 2 week notice
This is just a general dumb question but is there actually any consequences for not putting in a two week notice. no call no show.
job decreased pay after training
my partner recently started a new job (food service) at $20/hr, has been working there for about a 2 weeks with everything going fine other than not receiving a lot of direction / genuine training. after he got off his shift today, one manager was working on payroll and texted him to ask what the other manager agreed to pay (shift ended @ 4:30 pm, texts received @ 9:30 pm). he told them $20/hr and then Other Manager texted saying his pay dropped to $15/hr + tips after his first 3 training shifts. wth is this ?? anyone ever encountered this before ?
