Fourth of July
Saw a question asking about when will Americans have a strike. I think July 4th would be symbolic, independence from capitalism and the systems that enslave the people of the world. Just thoughts
UPDATE: Fed up. Contacted the CEO.

I was offered the job on Thursday and signed my offer letter on Friday! I will be working at the same hospital, during the same shift, but for an outsourced company. I'll be doing patient registration, instead of phlebotomy, which is unfortunate since I liked it so much. That said, I'll be getting more hours, WAY more PTO, 2 more paid holidays a year, $1.50 more an hour (yeah…still not high but definitely more manageable), and higher shift differential ($1 at old job, new job: $1.20 during the week, $1.50 on weekend shifts). My email changed nothing (well…in a week haha), but I'm glad I said it and then did something to change my situation.
No words for this garbage.
This happened about ten years ago. I was working at a large(ish) software company and one day my boss called me into his office. He said that the project I was working on was in serious trouble and he needed me to “step up” and save it. Due to the limited bus hours, there was no way for me stay at work longer; so I politely asked if the company could rent me a car, or maybe put me up in a hotel near the office. My boss *laughed* at my suggestions. Then he told me to just buy a second car. I asked him, “You want me to buy a new…
Shift change?
Looking for some advice on where to go in my current work situation. I’m a student in college and I’m doing part time work. Since my classes are ending and someone who works the same job as me (same title, same category, same every thing) is moving I was gonna trade my hours for his in order to get something with more hours that didn’t have to work around a college schedule. I’ve been working here for about 2 and a half months since I just move here for college but my boss told me I can’t take his hours because you can’t change jobs until the 6 month mark. I’m apart of a union and I read through the union contract and I didn’t see anything about not being able to change hours before 6 months. And since my union is seniority based, it would make more sense to…
Past time for adults so they don’t have to offer benefits. Imagine trying to live off $13 an hour part time.
Workers strike in Los Angeles
The writers guild as some of you know has been on strike for some time now. Apparently thousands have joined in solidarity. The teachers union and a bunch of others have joined up too.
