I started looking for a second job months ago and its been a grueling process. After finally doing three phone interviews and one in-person, then communicating back and forth with the hiring manager, all I received was a thumbs-up and being ghosted since Monday…Even though the interviewer on Saturday wanted me to start working after 5:30 after my main job on Monday.
Month: June 2023
I’m trying to break into a niche industry and just graduated. I won a competition and got invited to visit the one company. I assumed it was an interview, but didn’t get my hope up. They PUMPED me up told me how incredible I was etc etc. Told me it was an interview. Told me they were going to make a position for me to work there. The official interview was today. Did the interview. They grilled me over my portfolio. Then I asked if it was hybrid and salary. NO JOB. I’m not sure if after that they decided they didn’t want me anymore. I mean they were condescending and asked me if this was my first interview. I’ve just never been girlled like that. I seriously don’t understand the point. But anyways NO JOB told me the interview was exploratory for the future. I’m so over it.
I’m a video editor!!
I've been ignoring these assessments but I also would like an interview sometime. Fml
I’m Quitting My Job Today (Tips Please!)
I have set up a meeting with my main boss and this real piece of shit who is now my boss. I'm going in with plenty of receipts, and hopefully a lot of calmness lol. Any tips on how to leave a lasting impression?
Was let go from Disneyland last Fri
I was a Ride Operator, which means most of the time you do no work, unless you're in a safety critical position. That day I was in it for 30mins, a lost phone is turned into me. Phone rung while I was at the machine that controls the entire ride; I answered and told them we have their phone. My union could not represent me due to me still being in my probationary period (I was 2 months into the 4 months) From someone who only has been a retail cashier his entire 38 years of life, this is devastating to me. I got paid more than minimum wage, got 36+ hours a week, and I was so happy to be there 6 days a week (as a new hire Im only scheduled for 24 hours a week, so I called in every day to either extend or come…
So, to set the scene here: I was homeless at the time and was desperate for any source of income. This was in 2018, and work was steady enough to be found rather quickly in the area I was living in. I get a call back after a few days of applying, and it’s a job as a milkman for a local dairy depot. The pay isn’t by the hour, it’s $125 a day, and there are absolutely no benefits and no time off. I knew going into it that it wasn’t a good deal, but we’ll touch more on why later. I was crashing in a family friend’s fifth wheel for the time being, and unfortunately, said friend’s camper was roughly an hour away up into the mountains from where the job was located, and my shifts were from 9 at night until I finished the job, which typically…
Et tu, Martha Stewart?

Meetings are EXTREMELY Unproductive
I've worked in many different businesses. The one thing I've learned is how pointless meetings are. Seriously what in the hell is wrong with people? Am I the only one that gets extremely annoyed and frustrated when meetings come up? It prevents you from doing work, you're not going to get started on anything because you got a meeting in less than an hour or so and you're obviously not working when you're busy talking or listening, for things that could easily be summed up in a paragraph within an email. Often nothing of value comes out of meetings, especially so for an office position. If things aren't recorded, they're often forgotten. Anything of importance is usually sent via an email afterwards, making the entire meeting pointless. The people who create these meetings, often aren't doing anything and create meetings to make it seem like they're actually doing something. I've…
We're seriously going to watch the world burn to the fucking ground whole we work through our own demise, aren't we? Hell, I work for a human fucking rights org and still am expecting to report to work when the air quality isn't breathable. It's absolutely insane the world just goes on like nothing is going on. Profit and productivity is all that matters.
