My boss was literally the first person I told when I knew my wife was pregnant. Before my grandparents, and anyone on my side of the family. When they heard they said “you're the best janitor we've hired in the last 5 years. Whatever you need you'll get it. We don't want to lose you.”
Come a week before the due date (and about 5 days before my leave was supposed to start) during my weekend they had to induce. That's when I got the notice saying my leave was denied. (only a month and a half.)
Told em that it wasn't a request. Id be back on the 14th of September. Either I'd have a job, or id come collect my last paycheck. Goes to show your only important when your working for them.
