I work in a nail bar.
we come in 30mins early to prepare for customers and stay an hour late to clean up. This is unpaid.
The owner wants to implment fines if we are late for the morning clean up. £10 fine for every 10min late. The fines will be collected at the end of the month and distributed among the rest of the staff. The owner will not take any of this.
What are my options here? I dont want to pay any fines, altho I shouldn't as im rarely late, but this is bullying. I voiced my concerns and was told that If I don't like the way things are going I could leave.
I am self employed and work 2 days a week at this bar and pay to use the store premises. Most of the staff are full time and dare not speak up.
This is in the UK. I am using my dads account to get advice. Thanks in advance.
