I have been with my current company for almost 6 years now (MARCH). I value loyalty and respect.
First and foremost, why am I leaving?
It all started last year when I had to fight for my salary and commission. I didn't know, but I was HEAVILY underpaid for everything that I did for the company. Luckily, I had an amazing offer and my toxic boss decided to match it. I thought it was a great idea to stay since I already settled down in PA.
We hired a VP of operation who started off great but started to be a dick to me. I wouldnt get paid for working from home because they thought “I wasn't working” In reality, I was traveling for the fucking company. ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. They hired my supervisor without my knowledge because they wanted “white older gentleman to represent the company” Im asian by the way. This was told to me directly from my boss last year. On top of that, they hired someone below me without my knowledge. I found out when he started lmfao.
They did not pay me for “working from home” because they thought I wasnt working. I had to fight them in multiple occasion to get my pay back.
My last strike was, during Christmas and New Years, my wife and I went through unfortunate medical emergency. I was not able to go back to the office until 1/13/23. I told them I would work from home, but it was denied and I did not get paid. BUT I STILL WORKED. When I came back, my boss called me into his office and wanted to give me (3) advices. Fatherly advice (fuck outta here with that bullshit, nowhere near the father figure), friendly advice (not my friend), and business advice (of fucking course).
- Fatherly advice – things will get better, but you need to distract yourself by working! and it will make you feel better!
- Friendly advice – we are your friends too, so you need to make sure your friends are taken care of!
- Business advice – we need you to work even during these times.
My fucking face was RED. I was FURIOUS. He knew the shit I went through and he still wanted to make it all about him and his business.
This brings us to the present.
I was reached out by a wonderful company and they DROVE 10-11 hours to snatch me away from my current company. Offer was 10x better than what I currently make (I make good money) AND THEY CARED ABOUT MY WIFE MORE THAN ME. which says alot about the culture.
I have alot of friends at this company, so I decided to give them 6 week notice. They asked for more, but I kindly declined. Mind you, I am the ONLY ONE WHO CAN DO WHAT I DO BECAUSE I WORKED MY ASS FOR THIS COMPANY. WE HAVE A FUCKER WHO PLAYS GAME ALL DAY AND THEY DONT EVEN SAY SHIT TO HIM.
What do I get in return? attitude, micromanaging, and fucking disrespect because Im leaving the company for a better one.
I was told I was being gaslighted for 3 years from EVERYBODY, but I just ignored everybody thinking everywhere else would be the same. I honestly hate myself for working here and providing my skillset to them for 6 years. But you live and learn.
THE GRASS IS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE SOMETIMES!
NO ONE DESERVES TO BE TREATED WITH TOXICITY BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO BE A PROPER BOSS/MANAGER.
