Employer charging employees for business loses

I have evidence that the owner of a business charged his employees for materials which ended up being damaged during fabrication (a normal business risk). The damaged material cost the business a few thousand dollars, which was split between a few employees who worked in the fabrication process. These employees are undocumented (actually, the business helped forge documents, but I cannot prove this, even though it is known) and have no one to turn too without risking immigration issues… When it was all said and done, each person lost a little over an entire week's wages. This was done as punishment to the employees, to scare them into being… more careful, I guess. I'm starting to think that nothing will come out of this – that the company will get away with it. I have a copy of the email which informed the employees of the illegal action against them, and the email is from the majority owner of the company.
