Mandatory Lunch Times

So my one job is in an ER and sometimes we will go 12-16 hour shifts with no break. It’s usually a protein bar while on the go. At the end of the shift we clock out “no lunch” meaning we don’t have 30 minutes removed from pay. This can suck but it’s the nature of an ER. Well this week management laid down the hammer. We are now being forced to take our lunches “when they are offered”. This means that on a 16 hour shift yesterday 7am to 11pm, my break was offered to me at 830am. Additionally, this week I was told that after I pass off my patients to the night crew, I had to go sit in the break room for 30 min after my shift because that was “when it was offered”. Lastly there is no food allowed out the break room so we can’t eat when hungry, only on breaks.
