Written Up, Despite Proof of Innocence & Maybe Also Extortion????

Last week I was written up at my job (inspector) for “stealing time.” My manager and higher up whom I don’t know sat me down for a meeting to discuss “numerous offenses of time theft.” Only one instance was mentioned on the write up, but this is the 4th accusation of time theft since this new manager joined less than 1 year ago. This accusation pertained to a job done last month for the State Government. The State required I perform my duties at the beat of the local police department’s drum. Any and all delays were due to coordination of a police escort. The city’s officers were switching out every 20-30minutes of an all day job. I had to stop what I was doing, and check in with each officer. It all seemed a little overkill, but I’m not gonna argue with being paid to just enjoy a few…

This accusation pertained to a job done last month for the State Government. The State required I perform my duties at the beat of the local police department’s drum. Any and all delays were due to coordination of a police escort. The city’s officers were switching out every 20-30minutes of an all day job. Anyway, we have gps trackers in our company vehicles that log every little thing about the vehicle; we have to use an app to track our dispatch, arrival, and departure times at a site; and then finally we have an app to punch in an out. They said none (so every day’s set) of my times match up between the apps and gps. I walked them through everything, and told them each step, and it all added up. The other higher-up manager, who never gave their name, even said it all makes sense, everything I said sounds reasonable, and it checks out.

THEY STILL WROTE ME UP (no I didn’t sign that bullshit).

Towards the end of nearly 3 hours of grilling me, I find they’re being audited for not paying people correctly (probably the guys they force on call with no pay). They’re probably looking for a scapegoat.

But here’s the part I really don’t know what to do about: while talking about how I’d be coached as part of this disciplinary action (never got a coach), they offered to make it all go away if I agree to have my times edited and pay them the difference! They wanted me to pay them money I proved I earned! Fuckin assholes.

I told them no way would I lie to get out of anything, and I’m not signing anything. Every rule change I follow to the letter.
