Boss is trying to police when I take my vacations

I’m in a long distance relationship with my partner and we can only see each other a couple of times a year. I just got back last week after seeing him for 4 days and almost immediately gave notice for a 7-day vacation from December 25th through the 2nd of January. My boss accepted it but then pulled me aside to say that next year we have to discuss “taking turns” vacationing on holidays. I didn’t say anything out of sheer shock, but this rubbed me the wrong way. She and I are the only ones working at this office, but part of why I gave her 4.5 months notice for December is so that head office can make arrangements for coverage. Had she been the one to book time off I wouldn’t have said anything regardless of where it lands on the calendar. Pending that she doesn’t book it…

Had she been the one to book time off I wouldn’t have said anything regardless of where it lands on the calendar. Pending that she doesn’t book it off before I do, this isn’t going to stop me from booking next years New Year’s Eve off or any chunk of days for that matter.
