I work for a major hospital system and am overall paid decent, but I cannot stand our attendance policy. We have an ‘occurrence’ system in place for missing work regardless of the reason. My kids have been sick non-stop since October and I’ve called in to take them to the doctor 3 times since November. The other day I got pulled into the office for a ‘counseling’ regarding my attendance. Once you hit 3 absences, you get a counseling….4 is a level 1 written warning, 5 a final written warning and 6 is termination. Even providing a doctor’s note you’re still subject to this policy. This is the dumbest shit I’ve ever dealt with. We can’t even take care of our sick kids without dealing with this bs from work. I’m over it. Just venting here. When I brought up how ridiculous this is to my boss she simply stated ‘we have to do it’. Fuck off
