For context, I no longer work at this company I am mentioning, and this was a little over a year ago.
I worked in a waterheater production company, small end but management acted like we were the best of the best despite being understaffed and never having supplies in stock for production of product. I ran our only assembly unit which put the water heater units together, so everything rode on if I could do the assembly process. Our water heaters were lined with cement, so they had the individual pieces of it lined before hand and then brought to me once they had hardened for assembly.
One day I am going through my parts and found a rat had gotten stuck in the wet cement and died there. It had been dead for weeks and the smell was unbearable. I notified management who was pissed because they only made an exact number of parts for the order. No room for error or issue. They take the part away grumbling and then after ten minutes come back with the part and tell me to use it. I can still see the stain from the dead rat and some of its fur in the cement.
I refused to use it which pissed them off until we got into a screaming match and I broke the part so I could not use it. Management said I was out of line, and that I was hurting the company with my bad attitude.
Sorry I don't want to put parts and juices of a dead rat into someone's water heater. So sorry.
