Last night I was having severe throat pain and issues with swallowing as well as pretty bad shivers.
I called out of work today and decided to go to urgent care who diagnosed me with strep. My doctor told me that I am considered contagious for the first 24 hours after my first dose of amoxicillin. I messaged my boss and our department telling them as much and that I wont be in tomorrow.
My boss then responds with appointment information for a vaccine for himself, suggesting that my taking the day off would keep him from honoring the appointment.
I understand he’d have to move plans around but we do work in a healthcare facility. The majority of my patients are older. I don’t know what to do. I feel like death and I don’t know if I’m going to be feeling any better tomorrow 🤷️
