Didn’t realize it was this bad.

Hi r/antiwork, I'm mainly making this post out of my experience working and searching from some advice. I'm an 18 year old non binary college student who's working part time to make some spending money to have for the next few semesters while I'm away. But the thing is- I don't think I'm being paid what I should for my work effort. I work at my local Pizza Hut and have been here for only 3 weeks. Don't get me wrong. My boss is a personal friend and all of my co-workers are sweet, but I'm constantly on my feet doing things that make me feel stressed for $10.10 an hour. (I did apply to other places that were 14-15$/hr, but they all denied me bc I didn't have experience working due to just turning 18 mid-way during the year then leaving for uni a month later). This is kind…

Hi r/antiwork,

I'm mainly making this post out of my experience working and searching from some advice.

This is kind of a situation I drug myself into but also one I think is just because places don't wanna hire me. There's one place nearby that pays more that I know I can get into because a family friend works there. And I'm just at a struggle. Would it look bad to quit less than a month in because I'm not getting paid enough? What if my family's upset?

Like the title says, I didn't realize it was this bad until I personally took part in the workforce. I knew it was bad but now my entire horizon is just- even bigger.

I'm just stuck. I don't know what to do. I'm just trying to save money- but for the stress I've gone through, it doesn't feel worth it. I've also gotten hurt a few times on the job already as well. Minor things, but I don't have a good pain tolerance and want to work somewhere that I could avoid that as much as possible.

I apologize if this is a weird post. I'm just exhausted already. This truly sucks.
